Morning - Spec - OEX, was looking at it yesterday - yep, never made any money. Been good at spending it (and losing it) though. Are they nearly out of cash or am I missing something?

On boring old VAST - someone the 'Telegraph' group (are you on there?) has posted an interesting article about the Marange sparklers, worth a read.

Just to be pedantic I have to ask what have any of SOU HUM HUR (I own all 3) MYSQ (used to) and UKOG (never have never will) got in common with VAST (apart from an AIM listing)? I do agree though that relatively speaking, compared to a lot of other stocks VAST has actually fared rather well. Relative performance doesn't really count though unfortunately does it. VAST's time will come though - soon, I hope!

TBTT - very good point - everyone should have a read of it. It's not big by Marange standards and doesn't accrue huge amounts to BOD (though relative to its tiny mcap it's meaningful) it's the way it's done - all self funded basically.

Morning! BOD might be interesting today. Not sure how much of the revenue actually accrues to BOD (it isn't totally clear) but the quoted figures ($2-7m) look pretty impresive relative to the mcap (£4m)

This air of desperate negativity is wrong imo.
Of course no one is happy about the current share price; everyone who understands Vast agrees that the market cap at £30m is a joke, the latest placement was, er, unfortunate and we'd all feel a lot happier if T2 was signed off.
But.... Yes Zimbabwe is risky, yes Rom is being slow to develop, but everyone invested here knew that when you signed the cheque (or should have done!). As I see it Vast is being given the opportunity to acquire chunks of the World's most valuable assets for pence in the pound and anyone buying shares at these levels is in turn getting VAST at pence in the pound relative to value. Zimbabwe has a sporting chance of coming good (or at least getting a lot better) generally and the diamond mines are among the biggest in the World - I doubt there'll be much difficulty finding the necessary investment and operational input to bring them to fruition. In Rom with T2 sorted from an international funder and Blueberry with II involvement you have two of Europe's biggest mines in their respective sectors operational within months. VAST is not about Q3 figures or whether it had to raise a million here or there to acquire more of these assets. I see it as being about extraordinary intrinsic value which will eventually out (and in the not too distant future - I hope anyway)!

VAST - expecting news on diamonds this week - interesting photos on the Telegraph group over the weekend of AP with Marange community Chieftains.

NH/Yrab i tend to agree with you both - it will all come good - but it grates somewhat that the explanation of use of funds is so vague and wishy-washy so soon after sitting in the AGM and be told 'no placings at this level (and that level was .6 or so) unless there are very specific reasons'. The 'reason' in this instance had better be bloody good...

I certainly do Ian. She ran what was then the Marlboro Mclaren F1 hospitality - so her recreational uses weren't just one dimensional - insanely pretty, but also pretty insane (hence the sad ending). And to think she called ME mad dog lol.

PS Patientinvestor, I have a problem with what I suspect is either Japanese Knotweed or Himalayan Balsam (how the hell did that get there?!) in my gardens. Do you have any advice for dealing with it? Thanks!

I rarely rise to emotional comments but.... Patientinvestor it seems despite the histrionics that you're not totally daft. So why not use some of that intelligence to do some research before spending money you presumably haven't got on volatile shares.
All companies can of course go bust. But Vast is a long way down the list of likelies. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to glean that Zimbabwean assets ARE cash positive, it has a choice of great international jv/funding partners for the Romanian assets, and believe me there will be no shortage of willing funders for diamond assets (including local debt for up to half of any investment).
So cash is tight, yes, but going bust? erm, not just yet. So please desist with the histrionics, you're upsetting the locals and you're putting would-be new investors off.

I think that'/ a fair assessmet 2p. I (like ORT) would add Blueberry as being of potentially very significant value especially if the suggested IPO occurs in the timeframe being suggested, its value to Vast would then be directly visible and calculable. And could potentially be worth a very healthy chunk of Vast's current market cap.
