Deffo. I took a bit of the Blueberry and although selfishly would like to see a similar deal for diamonds I think it's better he tries to keep it in-house and close. Maybe via rights issue or something. The IRRs on that thing must look stratospheric.

I'll bet you one of the mm's was short (and I suspect we could easily guess which one lol) perhaps expecting a placing, and in the absence of much volume is able to keep it down till he's filled his position. But what the eff do I know.

World Class diamond grades - the market should be under no illusion now - this is going to be one of the biggest and best diamond mines on the planet and will take very little time or money to get there and the returns will be seen to start very quickly. Ian isn't far off the mark with his bucket and shovel reference, but there's lots more beneath the surface.
Great for Vast but also great for Zimbabwe and the community. Good for BOD too I guess...

Morning chaps! On the vaster - bizarre isn't it, who knows, as you say. I suspect it's a mixture of MMs and one particular broker messing with it. I'm fairly sure it's not warrants because we know where the majority of them are (6 or 7 people, I've a fair few myself). I also think there's lots more good news to come. So unless fhere's a cheeky turd about to be released it's a frustrating mystery!

Yrab I agree with that - I have a feeling Vast is one of those strange shares where you get loads of news and nowt happens, then one day you look at your screen and it's mysteriously jumped to 1.2p or something. We can live in hope but it's true what Krazy said - Mr Market rights himself eventually and 'value will out'. My biggest fear is that some bigger entity spots the anomaly and pounces on it - like what happened with Ithaca last year for instance, bid for at a nice premium but nothing like what shareholders should have got.

Totally agree TBTT - great post - softly softly making positive noises is the way to go about it, show them how we can help them, you catch more flies with treacle than with vinegar. There's a hell of a lot more at stake here than a few carats in a bank vault so would be silly to ruin relationships over them (that's not to say it wouldn't be great to get them back!)

It is slightly daft re the warrant conversions, there is in fact a firm (JPJenkins) who make a market in the warrants. I had a conversation with Roy Tucker about it a while back - he said that the trouble is, unless the holder/probate executor/whoever selling knows about it, it's usually too late by the time they inform the company to tell them to try JPJ first.

I agree Castaway if they were short of the 650 for Wednesday I'm pretty sure they'd have had to announce any placing by now if that was the way they intended to do it. (That said I've learned not to underestimate the potential for Vast to spring surprises upon us mind you!)

Re VAST yes but I'm pretty sure they've got it sorted. Nowt is done till it's done though so next couple of days pretty squeaky till it's announced as done and dusted. Onwards and upwards after that though, surely....?!!
Re VLS - that announcement was much needed - looks like they have cash to see them through the next year or 2 as they've cut the burn by £6m annually. Questionmarks over competitive tech in the market apparently though. I think I'll stay out for now (so fill yer boots lol).

Agree Farmer I was busy on other stuff yesterday and thankfully so, looking at the threads. I have a theory that there's a direct/inverse relationship between the level of bickering on any given bb and the performance of the related share price. Sorry to see Sandy go - I valued his useful local Rom . Re LeeMorris I value his input too and know he has done a lot to help this share, other shareholders and hence the company over a long time.
Re placing, I have no idea but happen to be a client of one of the company's brokers and have had no call from them (but usually do) - I suspect it'd be a bit late now in any case to go to the market to be in funds for early next week. AP will have to use his flair!

My thoughts - market thinks 'placing incoming, tin hats on' to pay for licence next week. I feel pretty sure it was already accounted for, and even if it wasn't I think it's too late to use the market in any case so AP and Carl K will have to use their flair won't they. There must be other sensible sources of the cash given all the positives surrounding this company atm. So I'm betting on no placing. Once BP properly signed and paid for, and Mercuria Tranche 2 confirmed, it'll recover strongly imo. There's more good news to come after that too (diamonds etc). I'm up to my ears already but if I wasn't and had spare cash I'd buy more, lots more at these levels.
