Any science deals with a thinking of a theory of hypothesis, developing a method of testing that hypothesis and if necessary, revising that hypothesis - when 'people ' talk about proof, that's garbage, it would be more accurate to say 'not currently disproven ' and that applies to physics as much as geology or for that matter any 'ology', even those 'soft sciences'
