Like so many posters I am pretty staggered, given all the current trends and all the positive signals, that the sp continues to lag. Regard the current price as a must for topping up, so took 20k at 28.85 and will now hold and watch developments. With respect to all we know, I find it equally puzzling that IIs would want to sell at this level.

Need some positive news on both scores to stop this drifting. I topped up far too early yesterday, but still happy with the rates and can only see this going one way.

Thanks Masks - read this story in today's DT. Perhaps Bacton got inadvertently mixed in with the story owing to pipeline connection etc. As you say, either way will keep the pressure up on gas prices as European demand is bound to be greater in the winter as it weans itself off Russian gas.

Not with this stuff - just looking for an explanation to gator's comments about "counter-intuitive reports" on Bacton. Have been in this share a long time now alongside a number of LTHs, so expect a straight answer to a legitimate question as no mention of an issue at the Reception facility has been made by the BOD. Perhaps the ever-helpful Sailor can oblige?

I read rumblings of a problem with Bacton and winter closing? Excuse my ignorance, but what is this all about?

With cash being eroded in value by roaring inflation - can't quite see the logic of that one?

Mole - there is nothing normal about this share or the management strategy of this company. So many mistakes and mishaps now that we LTHs are getting resigned to the negativity that immediately follows the slightest hint of progress. For those that top sliced or sold shortly after first gas - well played! For those that stayed for the long haul with reasonable expectations of further advance it has become something like attempting to swim the channel with a fridge on your back

Interesting post dell - lets hope that the IOG bod are as switched on as you. Will look up Hartshead and thanks for the link. Could be yet more than a tenant applying for use of the pipeline and Saturn Banks?

Same old I'm afraid - sellers moving in the second we get a half decent rise.

Also reporting my old friend IOG is stirring its stumps once again. Got back in at 25p, and a busy day today has sent it over 30p. Lots to come as they have fixed problems with two wells now flowing gas, and a much larger one Southwark being commissioned for drilling in Q4. No divis in sight but certainly one for the bottom drawer IMHO.

toro - you have answered your own question. Griffiths and LO got on at mates rates, so the slightest lift as we have experienced this week sees them unload a few mill against positive news and heavyweight PI buying. They are not investors in the company and its future, but treat the sp as a trading opportunity.
As for today's 1m trade, I would make that a PI buy, with the MMs marking up the Ask but leaving the Bid as they so often do even though you could sell at 28.50+. Gator is right - manipulation is endemic with this share.

Go with you on the bottom line prospects here, and the daily sell-off has to be panic or necessity reasons in this volatile market. I made a move out of another surprising loser to consolidate here - not in your kind of volume - and the late drop in both is temporary IMHO. Toughing things out may be a compulsory strategy now.

So - out of BP for a few k as they have long gone ex-divi with payday tomorrow - and into i3E at these current bargain prices. Shrewd move??

Stas20 - made the support move that you requested with an early 77k tranche at 24.5 - and we have also got the bounce that you predicted. Will now refer to your crystal ball at all future opportunities!

O & G is generally lagging everywhere over the last few days, but never thought this share with all its plus factors would touch this level again. Fully topped up now, so will trust your prediction of a bounce for all holders.

Today's downward correction has certainly been overdone and a re-alignment of oil prices will certainly see this restored. Take it as a good opportunity to top up, and nice to see fellow posters doing exactly that!

Well bully for you Masks! We have been doing exactly that for a number of years, only to see the rug pulled time and again by Institutional sellers who got in here at mega mates rates. Looks like its happening all over again, and the understandable buying reaction from PIs is nothing like powerful enough to make a difference.
