The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Good positive observations now lets see if the brainless selling eases off? Not rocket science to predict an sp of 38p+ in very short order if they leave it alone?
Thanks for the engineering offshore report Sailor. Does this mean that the the continuous pipeline from Southwark to Bacton is now in place?
You said it all there Phippsy. What other share do you know that sparks off another bout of selling after an excellent presentation to confirm all the positive prospects we have been discussing?
Yeah Edgar, nice idea - its York this weekend and got a decent pot for some action!
GGiS - not far behind you in terms of longevity, and looking at the history in that time, I much prefer the so called boring bits to the display of cojones that was required when we dived to the 10p marker before BH rode to the rescue. It has been a long journey, but agree that we are in the best place that we have inhabited a very long time. For me, that includes editing out any flights of imagination regarding takeover bids. As previously pointed out, the debt levels in the corporate scene are holding back takeover action across the board - and this certainly includes any further mickey-taking from the AA team.
All the ifs and buts surrounding the possibility of a bid from AA seem to be re-surfacing. We know his stance from the derisory offer made from his RRE base some 4 years ago, so lets not get too excited.
Totally on the same page gator - it is a repetitive routine and a constant source of frustration. I would add that it could also present a put-off to any nascent bidders, however low-ball their offers might seem.
On the same page Gusto, except did my topping yesterday to catch the divi. Guess we were bound to drop today going ex-divi, and the lumpy late trade for £70k+ was declared after the bell so too late to save us. We are at a great buying rate for all the reasons, and a result at Serenity next month or so will sort this out.
Disappointing day with late Sells once again spoiling the picture. Given all the positives here we are surely at an appealing buy price?
All trades over 35.30 are Buys this morning, including one of mine. The last at 35.70 should send us on our way to another rising day - IIs permitting of course!
gator - appreciate the comments, and it is not only frustrating but hard to understand the strategy when the potential level of sp here is so obviously higher both medium and longer term? Also, as institutional investors they are under no immediate pressure to seek ready cash - unlike some PIs who will require a cash return from time to time. Another of the great frustrations for LTHs of this share!
Pleased to get a 20k top-up at 34.5p earlier today. We have some momentum now and have no wish to see the II sellers any time soon!

Replaced my tin hat with a Panama and followed your advice Gusto with 14k @ 23.4 top-up. Nursing the promise of a nice divi next month and just in time too - but we do need to get this sp moving as these levels do not come close to representing the true value here.
Whether its Andrew Austin or Jimmy Jones the only way I can see a proper upwards movement in this share price is for someone to table a bid around the 55p mark for IOG. Ok - we know that is way below the true valuation, and will in all probability be rejected - but at least it would jerk the share into some action. All the measured valuations being offered on this board are fine for projection - but whilst we have a wretched band of IIs ready to sell at the slightest hint of a rise in sp, it will take something dramatic to radically change the picture. The latest RNS is a classic example - full of positives and inspired a round or two of PI Buys, only to be followed by a another retrace as our dear friends took a bit more profit on their mates rates acquisitions. Just hope that the Bidwishers get their result!
HL also reliable on all forms of divi payment - and run a good "kill or fill" facility for trading. The Austin factor also getting them excited on the IOG board, remembering his very saucy 20p bid when at RRE. Knowing AA, his bids will always be some distance below a realistic valuation, so unlikely to be taken seriously if indeed they do happen. Those who invested early at Kist have done rather well!
Agree with your calming approach GIGS , but they do seem to target this share with an aura of doubt at the slightest normal operation on an offshore well resource. Too many positives at this juncture to cause any alarm and reading the reliable observations of Sailor, what is the fuss? Its a strange energy market at present and outside factors can cause ripples either way at any time.
