Part 1

I know that not everyone approves of my cancer updates on this bb. However since early 2019 when I was first diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma I have received very kind support from the BMN community here. So I would like to give the latest update on progress. First a brief history.

I was first diagnosed on New Year’s Day 2019. Had surgery in Feb ( the only cure) followed by Chemo. Remained cancer free until spring 2020 when scan revealed that it had returned and I was immediately placed on palliative care list (technically means likely to die within 6 months though thankfully not always accurate!). Summer of 2020 more unpleasant Chemo which checked progress until spring of 2021 when the tumours started to increase in size again. One oncology Professor even suggested I should stop treatment and just live out rest of my life. I told him he didn’t know me very well and left it at that!

At this point not many options left and things looked a little bleak. However we decided to try a radiation therapy (SIRT) not available on the nhs and that was carried out in Sept 2021. This was very expensive and wiped out my cash savings. However the process was partially successful and bought me a little more time. Therefore worth every penny.

Unfortunately in spring 2022 new tumours appeared in the so far unaffected part of my liver and there didn’t appear to be much more that could be done. That could have been the end of the story but if I have learned anything from this it was to remain positive and be proactive in tackling the disease (ie focus on diet, exercise and a positive mental attitude). My oncologist informed me that I had already defied the odds.

Some may remember a crowdfunding appeal that appeared on LSE bbs to raise money for a lovely young lady who was diagnosed with the same disease about a year after I was. News of her death was very distressing.

One other point I would advise is know your disease and keep up with current research into treatments. In my case the oncologist agreed to refer me to a programme not available on the nhs but offered on compassionate grounds to those patients that met the criteria. The problem was that the treatment was only available for a particular and not that common mutation. After testing I was found to be a suitable candidate. Treatment started in September 2022 and is ongoing.

Almost immediately my blood tests started showing remarkable improvement and last week every parameter bar one was stable and within normal range. The last two 3 monthly scans have shown reduction of tumour size which of course is great news.

Can BMN carry forward all or part of losses from previous years to offset tax in next profitable year?

I assume that would be SA tax law.

By the way in case there is any doubt why I am not responding to any specific point in Coffeecups post it is because he has not specifically addressed me. Just used sly inuendo.

Why has he done that? Because he knows that would contain specific lies that I would report to admin and yet another of his malicious lies would be removed. You see he is a lot more sneaky than you thought eh?

Coffeecups you are free to think and do what you like about BMN. But so is everyone else. You stick to your strategy but show some respect for those that have a different one.

The right to post here is not related to size of holding. You mention 300000 shares as if that is trivial. There will be many investors, particularly younger ones, who would love to afford 300000 shares. Don’t patronise them.

All are equally welcome to post.

M.B I am afraid your attitude is simply not good enough. The post that you referred to was in response to a comment suggesting my paper losses were bigger than most. That was a completely inaccurate statement and has been dealt with. It was nothing to do with you.

So when you posted this quote:

And then implied that I was lying you had to be corrected, which I did in the post of 15.47.

If you wish to comment on my posts at least read them carefully.

Yes in 2017 I ended up with a free carry. That was my strategy in all my investments back then. Take out the original stake at appropriate moment and enjoy free carry. Made some good money in other shares doing that but having met Fortune I decided this would be my long term investment and it still is. When I was diagnosed with cancer in early 2019 I got rid of any other shares, just retaining BMN.

I did buy some more shares in later years which is why as I have already said this investment owes me around 4p per share. With regard to current sp that is pure coincidence and unrelated.

I repeat that most of my shares were bought between 2013 and 2016. In 2016 the same types of troll were very active when sp dropped to below 1.5p. I just bought a few more!

So there you have it Mr.B. A response that was far more gracious than your post deserves. Feel free to apologise for effectively calling me a liar … your choice.

ARCM I do sympathise if your investment has so far not returned what you had hoped for. I don’t wish that on anyone and I sincerely hope that you can adjust to the reality for the time being.

AIM is a very risky place to invest and the mining sector one of the greatest risks. Surely we only take that risk because we hope for the big returns but there are no guarantees. Much as I support BMN I cannot guarantee that everything will go according to plan or that the share price will “boom”.

However from all the evidence I see the last two years have been painful for shareholders but perhaps a necessary evil the result of which is the company being well placed to be very profitable in 2023. Time will tell.

ARCM you started off well enough, now I’m delusional! Typical response sadly.

Ok only Fortune has made money.

Wrong. I have friends and family who made some very nice profits in 2017/18 and I was able to remove original stake leaving free shares.

Anyone who bought in 2020 and sold early 2021 potentially could have made a lot of money.

Anyone successfully trading the dips could have made money.

And so on.

Fortune has made a living yes. So have the 800 employees working for him that are benefitting from the expansion and upgrading of the plants and the building of the minigrid and Belco.

In fact the more you delve into it the more you realise how inaccurate your suggestion that only FM has made money is.

And I am guessing that those investing now are going to make a lot of money in the coming months and years … and good luck to them.

What is hysterically funny from my perspective is that 9 of you recommended ARCMs post that was so full of inaccuracies as to be almost embarrassing. (No disrespect intended to you ARCM)

Can I politely suggest that you focus on those things that you know about. Trying to discredit me is pointless, however well meaning.

There is no blind allegiance as you put it. Please forgive me for having a different long term strategy to yourself. I am not just that justifies your very judgemental approach.

I like what BMN are doing. I have previously posted my reasons so won’t repeat them. I follow the operational progress of the company and that has been and remains excellent. Should that change I would sell and go elsewhere and certainly would not return here making pathetic negative posts about BMN and the BoD as some sad individuals do.

However my conversations with Fortune convinced me that he will deliver the vertically integrated vanadium platform. These things take time from scratch but he continues to deliver and therefore I continue to support.

We are not all money grabbing traders that will say or do anything for money. Sounds like a very old profession to me!

Exactly right Beginerman. It’s about BMN. You need to remember that lesson next time you seek to bully, patronise or insult genuine. BMN shareholders who have positive views on BMN.

You say it’s not all about me yet when unable to answer my questions you turn it on me. That is fine with me. But remember when choosing a target for trolling and bullying some of us fight back. I dislike bb warriors like you not invested and thinking they can say or do what they like.

Next time you post try harder to focus on BMN and respect other posters. Then You ma6 get treated with a little more respect.

Cindercone following the same theme BMN do not know how much they can pay off with cash, whether the sp will reach CLN price of 17p and how much debt needs renegotiating. There are still several months to go.

They have told us that they are negotiating various solutions with other parties. That is the correct way forward. I understand more info will come out in Final Results. Impatient pis will just have to wait.

BMN is a growth company. There are only so many ways to fund that growth, eg dilution, debt, cash from revenue, etc.cash was not available at the time so debt was raised.

But your focus is wrong. You should be asking was the money spent wisely? Oh YES

Both planets refurbished and production up. Exactly what such loans should be used for.

Cindercone it is strange that you criticise Lawrence for forecasting numbers that nobody knows and I think you have a valid point.

So Beginerman asks me a question with exactly the same issue … nobody knows the future numbers. I give a detailed explanation about why I cannot be specific and that person then produces such a pathetic response.

Given that you agree that nobody knows those numbers you are not one of the hypocrites that recommended Beginerman’s pathetic response

Do you agree that the upgrades at both plants over the last two years have increased production and that combined with V prices higher than AISC profitability has returned? If not then what is your evidence?

?Do you agree that the Dollar Rand rate is now beneficial to BMN? If not what is your evidence??

Do you agree that from all available information and unless otherwise informed the electrolyte plant should be. Commissioned by end of H1? If not why not??

Do you agree that the company have said that they are discussing a number of options re debt settlement? If not why not???I look forward to reading your thoughts.
