Yes saw this on the 11th, see my postr below.
I couldn't find much information regarding their financials and current customer base.
It appears to be a good fit for BA., but I would like some more information just the same.

It appears that a few holders closed or reduced their positions in SSE yesterday.
A little short sighted IMHO, but it seems to have settled now.
I still maintain that part of the SP drop yesterday was due to some general unrest in much of the market, and a lot of other shares also suffered a little.

The market thinks so also.
Underlying profit up 47%
Statutory operating profit up 55%
Underlying EPS up 66%
Statutory EPS down 25% (A result of the remeasurement of deferred tax balances at the new UK rate of 25% which comes into effect from 1 April 2023.)

Work completed on the 1,400MW North Sea Link (NSL) to Norway.

NG. expect to deliver full year underlying EPS significantly above the top end of their 5 - 7% range.

Exactly my point. If medical grade cannabis is the growth prospect MXC would have you believe, what happens with the likes of GSK, yep they squeeze MXC out, no need for a takeover.
If the likes of GSK are not getting involved in this type of market, ask yourself why.
I'm stuck with 405670 shares with nearly 19% loss, thats too big a hit for me to swallow easily, although if it hits -20% I think its time to forget about jam tomorrow.

I have the 56 week year low as £2.692 and todays SP at £2.706, although its showing a bid price of £2.699 at close.

The SP has not shown any positive reaction to the news, down 0.5% as I type.

Oh and how did the GSK SP respond to this news, yes down 0.5% today as I type.

Wednesday GSK announced US contract to supply $1 billion worth of their Covid-19 antibody treatment to the U.S. in the next month.
That brings the number of doses ordered to 750,000 worldwide.
The medicine, sotrovimab, can prevent Covid patients from becoming severely ill.
As I have said before, we shouldn't dwell on this, MXCs profits lay elsewhere than Covid.

My advice.
Do not buy this on the back of good news, wait until it develops into substance, before adding further investment.
With this stock the good news has a habit of coming to nought.

Yes I saw that yesterday.
I wasn't sure what affect it would have on the SP or indeed the value of the company.
If its mobile money service is divested, I have no information as to how that would work.

Well I'm becomming ever more convinced this will drop below £38.
If so I'm going to have to think long and hard about increasing my holding.

I think the market is generally having a down day, SSE isn't alone in the drop.
It will all even out I think.

We shouldn't forget that SSE is a dependable dividend king. Its paid a dividend every year for 20 years.
Thats worth a great deal, and as avocet123 stated, the value of our holdings will continue to rise over the next few years.
I personally think the value of this stock will rise considerably over the next decade.

It seems the market isn't keen on the report.

The report looks good, its not clear why the dividend cut is required.
Debt seems under control.P
rofits look like they are on the rise, although this might be due to the improved market conditions since 2020 as a result of covid restrictions easing.
The company continues to expand and invest in new projects, and both materials and labor costs have increased a lot over the past year.
I suspect they have some big expansion plans that will need funding, maybe even aquisition of a smaller competitor.
It might be a case of short term pain for long term gain.

It renews memories of Lehman Brothers in 2008, no one thought that would happen.
I would hope that the impct to LLOY if the worst happened would be fairly limited, and it may not come to that.
But markets take hits, and markets recover.

I was hoping someone was going to expand on this 'energy transition to hydrogen' post with some views/comments.

AV. certainly seems to generate a good level of cash, is well over halfway through a £750m share buyback, with a further £3.25 billion to be returned to shareholders in 2022.
It pays a dividend around 5.6% which is well above the FTSE average.
Looking at the Life Insurance sector its listed as 3rd largest by market cap.
It has a P/E around 5.7, which in this sector is pretty good.
EPS runs around 70.2, by comparision Prudential and LGEN run about 59.68 and 27 respectively.
AV. looks quite good value at the moment.

I don't really understand why its not trading nearer to £4.20 than £4.
I suppose it dosen't really matter unless you intend to sell, and I personally hole it for the dividend, that I reinvest. But it is nice to see some big blue numbers just the same.

In an effort to be fair, if he/she holds 100,000's of shares it may be important to worry about 1p.

I only hold 10787 shares and only represents a small part of my portfolio, so its not much of an issue for me, and I certainly didn't mean to start this discord.
