Lots of down today, not much to be done but dig in and wait.
Of the 24 stocks I hold accross various sectors only RIO is showing blue for the day, and only just.
11 are showing me a paper loss, some like ADM I didn't expect as I was heavily in the blue before today.
It could be a full market correction, but I suspect this is just a blip, although given the global economic headwinds I am not sure it will be a full recovery in the short term.
These things happen, its important to keep a clear head.

Main points I see are;
Pre tax profit up 26%.
EPS up 24%.
Dividend up 19%.
ROE up 8%
Solvency ratio up 4%.
Exceptional profits of £769m recorded.
Proposed dividends look good.
I must be missing something because the end of year results leave me quite happy, I don't understand the drop in SP.

I'm not sure why, guess the market expected better results.

Whatever your % holding in the company now will be exactly the same after the consolidation.
Regarding the value of that stake, as always depends on current SP which is impossible to predict.
If you own 1% of the company now you will still own 1% after. I.e. absolutly no difference.
If the SP were 50% lower, the value of your holding today would be reduced by 50%, after consolidation it would also be reduced by 50%. I.e. absolutly no difference.
It really is quite simple.

Its always possible to lose all of your investment in any stock.
Is it going to happen, I doubt it.
Personally I've only invested what I am willing to write off, but I wouldn't have invested at all if I thought it would happen.

Thats a fair and I think reasonable example, I can't remember how I felt at the time, but my investments were less exposed to the conflict, so perhaps thats why this feels different to me.

BP. and SHEL were 'encouraged' to distance themselves from Russian assetts, which has cost them, why wouldn't Russia apply similar pressure to POLY and EVR.
I've seen a lot of things in my 30 odd years of picking stocks, but this is something I haven't seen before. Like most people I am wary of what I don't understand.

What is stopping from POLY from delisting on other markets and retaining a Russia market listing.
Russia is going to need money and in essence POLY makes it.
The Russian investors would benefit at the expense of others, and continue to trade on their local market, we may find it more difficult.
Russia has been increasing gold reserves for a little while now, the steel etc. would be exported to those countries willing to take their products.
I can only see the peace talks ending one way.
Tempting as it is I won't be adding at the moment, it dosen't matter how much a stocks fundamentals are worth if I can't access the market.

I don't believe it will happen, however a company can be forced to delist.
Therefore it is possible however unlikly.

I've followed this BB for a while and held for a while, but this is my very first post on here so a bit confused by your remarks. ????

If thats true both EVR and POLY are in the sights as likley candidates for exclusion.
I really can't see it happening, it would negatively effect pension funds, institutional investors and retail investors.
But then I guess I never imagined another war like this in Europe, or the international sanctions being imposed.
Even China with its 'Our relationship with Russia has no limits' is starting to suggest that there are limits.
I guess we will have more information this week.

Not quite the horror story you were hoping for, it may drop a little further, but I'm sticking with my estimated drop of 4% to 6% from the opening price today.
If it drops below my average of £2.8832, I'll simply add more, but I can't see that happening.
BP. is already 4.77% of my portfolio, so its got to drop quite a bit to tempt me to go overweight.
Like I said earlier its nothing, it will climb back soon enough.

If you really think BP. is likley to be the subject of a MnA its probably not safe for you to manage your own finances.
