The fool is excellent to highlight stocks to look at that I may not normally consider, but for goodness sake don't buy or sell anything on the back of their comments. I have found some dreadful mistakes in the information they comment on.
In their defence they did bring AAF to my attention, and after a few days of research I bought in. 9 months later its showing me a 38.16% profit.

If the news is indeed as positive as I think it may be I will be increasing my holding. It will cost me a little profit to wait but reduce risk, its just how I work.
I would expect to see a rise in the SP in response to the news, it will then settle somewhere between where it is now and the peak, so my intention is not to pay the peak price but somewhere between the two.
In my view there is still plenty of time, once sales start in earnest, that is when we may see a steep increase in the SP.
For those who are less risk adverse it is IMHO likely that you will see very good returns on early investment at these prices.

I think its safe to say that sadly the world has changed a great deal over just a few weeks.
Already many countries are reviewing their defence budgets, and we are very likley to see an increase in defence spending, some of which will result in orders from BA.
It is my belief that BA. will outperform over the next 2 years.

I hold AV. both inside and outside an ISA. I simply didn't have the ability to sell the stock outside the ISA, transfer the funds into the ISA and re-buy the stock due to the annual ISA limits.
I'm going to wait for more clarification on the 4th April before I finally decide on a course of action, but I'm considering selling the stock outside the ISA on the 5th or 6th April and transferring the funds into the ISA to re-buy AV.
Looking at the historical data, even accounting for the 2 to 3 day lag it will take for the process I expect to make up for any dividend loss, due to a slightly lower post dividend SP.
I will have to consider how the B share issue will impact the SP, but don't have sufficient information to base that decision on as yet.
I'm not comfortable with this as despite investing for around 30 years, I am definately not a trader. I tend to buy and hold. I am now retired and no longer invest fresh funds large enough to exceed the ISA limits but am in the process of moving stocks from the BED into the ISA, so any views or insights would be gratefully recieved.

AV. seems to have high hopes of ULTRA ELECTRONICS HOLDINGS PLC (ULE)

A company with any issues doesn't pay off $505m of debt a year early.

To be clear, this does not represent a share dilution due to the issue of new shares, its simply an increase in float due to a large sale. Absolutly nothing has changed regarding the fundementals of this stock.
If you thought it was worth holding before the sale its worth holding now.
For those of a nervous disposition a little research regarding the company who sold the stock and potential reasons, may reassure you. If your research consists of social media and reading bbs, then frankly another type of investment may be more suitable.

BP. to expand electric-vehicle charging in the U.K. over the next 10 years with £1b investment in a network with 300-kilowatt and 150-kilowatt ultra-fast public charging points.

BP. already has around 8000 superfast charging points in its current network.
This has to be good news, not just from the fees generated from charging but from the service station selling beverages, food, etc. Its often a surprise to see that profits from these areas can account for a large percentage of forecourt profits. The profit on fuel at point of forecourt sale is relatively small.

Its already up 3p on the days low.
As a long term hold IMHO anything below £1.43 is a good entry long term.
For those holding at a higher average, its unpleasant but I am very confident this will go back above £150 in the next 4 to 6 weeks.
Buy/sell with the head, not the heart.

Not so much 'shenanigans' just business. Institutions buy and sell stocks. Although I'm no trader I have rarely traded stock myself. I bought about £18k of this stock at 77p, sold at £1.33, used profits and initial investment to buy back in on a dip. Not because I didn't believe that AAF was a good business, but because I saw the potential to increase my holding at no additional cost. I say I rarely trade because I'm simply no good at it, and I do it once maybe every 2 or 3 years. Genrally I do far better waiting for a good price, buying and holding long term.

No there are no other bookbuilding deals. Due to the size of these types of trade and the obvious impact on the SP, they must be announced in advance.
I still maintain that the seller in this case needed to raise funds for their expansion through acquisition.
The current drop in SP is just white noise, and means little unless one needs to sell to raise funds.
My only real regret is that this close to the end of the tax year I don't have a big enough free float to buy another 10000 or so of these shares.

I missed the boat, SP around 10% down, I'm not too disappointed though as its not unexpected, although a bit oversold. I'll just continue to hold and wait for the inevitable climb back up.
I could have made a quick £2.5k, but as proved I'm no good at (day) trading, so will stick to my original investing strategy.

Thank you for that response. I think we may see a drop in the SP, but the fundementals of the company remain unchanged, so once the shares have cleared I would expect to see a similar recovery.
I really like this stock as a long term hold, but may take a little profit in the short term. I do not intend to reduce my holding long term.

It would appear that the sale by Singtel has now been completed. 60m shares of AAF were sold at an average price of £1.40.
This represents about 1.6% of AAF shares in issue, Singtel retains 3.9% of AAF share capital.

It may be connected with its acquisition of dialog PTE for $325m, which was announced earlier this month.

J.P. Morgan Securities plc has been appointed by Singapore Telecom International Pte Ltd to sell approximately 55 million ordinary shares in Airtel Africa plc as part of an accelerated bookbuild process.
The bookbuild process will commence with immediate effect following this announcement and may close at any time at short notice.
Airtel Africa will not receive any proceeds from the Placing.

I have no idea why Singapore Telecom International Pte Ltd is selling these shares but an accelerated bookbuild is often used when a company is in immediate need of financing.
I do not see it as any reflection on AAF as an investment.

It is however a large number of shares to come to market.

The share buyback announced today of upto £500m, looks substantial, and should IMHO be of benifit long term.
All things being equal (which of course they rarely are) it should show a noticeable increase in the value of the stock we hold when completed.
It is stated that the majority of the shares will be cancelled, that section of the RNS is less to my liking and is a little too vague, after all £251m is the majority but most would consider this to be about half.
If all the purchased stock were cancelled it would reduce the number of shares in circulation by around 8.8%.

Aquisition of EZ InvestSecurities confirmed today.
It gives access to the Japanese retail trading market, which it states is a substantial market for them and represents a major growth opportunity.
