An interesting thing about the press coverage of Palmer leaving, is that the SP plummet is front page tabloid news. Which even from a quick look on Twitter right now has resulted in many commenting that they need to jump in and buy shares now, whilst so low.

It hasn't had chance to pay off yet @Bully1985! £200m I read somewhere invested into the DBX and Welsh factory alone - which as you know they're just about to start selling.

Renault are far more likely to go first... all the signs are already pointing towards that. The Renault team will be the only one using Renault engines next year - I'm pretty sure that is not financially viable.

Mercedes Engine Division is separate to the F1 team, and is profitable from selling the engines to other teams... having just added McLaren back into the roster too, I can't see them going anywhere any time soon - they're more than self sufficient.

A V10 or V12 carbon accessorised lighter version of the DBX would be VERY interesting - they could get one over on Lamborghini with the engine. Although costs would be high, they could almost charge what they wanted for that.

Lambo didn't put a V10 in the Urus for cost reasons.... although the press guff says because of driveability. The Urus Evo which I am advised off the record is coming in 2022 will still have a V8 - but a lighter chassis.

Agreed. Contracts 'only' take money to get out of tho if they REALLY wanted Vettel.

Important too that the Racing Point Merc copy chassis this year seems FAST! I was with McLaren at Barcelona testing, and they genuinely thought that Racing Point were 3rd fastest, ahead of them and Red Bull. And also due to 2021 car regs being delayed, this chassis will run next year too - looking like a good ROI for the work they put into it.

I keep hearing rumours of Vettel to Aston for next year too, Daimler want him with their engine somehow. And just this morning saw the first mention that Williams are after Perez - so that could actually slot together!

AML will always be 'just' a sponsor though I am sure. The relationship doesn't need to be any deeper than that for marketing benefit, and AML would be crazy to get involved in F1 technically. A distraction and a money pit.

With Stroll at the top of both, I can see AML and Aston Martin F1 getting closer and closer together though - Like McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes.... same brand over the door, but still fundamentally different companies running automotive and F1 divisions.

Surely if you're undecided then literally hedge your bets JimJam.... have a tickle now so that you're in the game - either double up or average down depending where it goes from here!?

Just had a nice surprise with MARS merger with Carlsberg rocketing that SP... taken the winnings and the excuse I was waiting for to get out of that..... doubling down on AML with the capital.

I get what you're getting at.... I have a new car arriving soon, ordered way before this - and it has been my thought not to shout about it as much as I may otherwise have done. But this highlighted focus on spending perception is a very short term thing.... people have very short memories these days!

This will affect DBX orders less too.

And there's not much difference rocking up in the old Aston, as the new Aston....
