Mercedes categorically have to provide the same hardware to their customer teams as the works team. Software though is not the same case. And how the drivetrain integrates into the package is individual. Although.... it looks pretty likely that Racing Point have had 'some' guidance from Mercedes! I'm expecting some protests after the actual session of the season in a few days, as the car is sooo similar - the other teams haven't had opportunity to do this yet this season.

There is zero chance of Lewis moving to Racing Point/AML. The only way Lewis could end up in green next year is if Stroll buys Mercedes F1 instead.

It's likely that Lewis will have to move his goal posts during contract negotiations of course due to corporate finances. Footballers only took pay cuts because of media pressure, not because they saw it as the right thing to do.

To see how AML could fit within Mercedes @Holly14 IMO look to the not too distant future. Tightening EU regs mean that Mercedes will struggle to make a V8 from 2022. Aston Martin by it's nature of being much lower volume, means that they are outside of some of the harshest regulations. AML soon to be run by AMG head Moers. Mercedes F1 engine head stepping down for 'a new project within the Mercedes family'. Interesting!

Why 'unfortunately' Stroll using AML for his racing ambitions? They're mutually beneficial. AML will benefit more from increased F1 exposure than the other way around. 20mill for a works branded F1 team is the deal I read he worked in - that's CHEAP!! I can just about get my name on a wing mirror of another F1 team for that - trust me I've had that discussion!

Lamborghini profit margin I believe is over 30% generally @Holly14, and the Urus well over that. And very similar volumes and loyal passionate client base. Very comparable.
Urus is a VAG platform share with really helps that of course - but by a similar token the DBX has Mercedes running through it - drivetrain, much of the interior, air con.

I'm not hugely confident that Strolls mind is on looking after us PI's. But I am satisfied that I can't see too many ways that this will play out, that in benefiting his consortium, that he doesn't benefit us too.

This is getting interesting.... I know most in the F1 paddock at least by name. I know two Holly's .... ;o)

DBX isn't my bag.... it doesn't have the performance of the Urus, albeit maybe 20% cheaper depending on spec balances that out. But what you're underestimating again is the passion of Aston Martin brand advocates. The majority of Aston Martin sports car aficionados will want a DBX alongside as a daily. Cost is almost immaterial, and its when, not if. I've seen this demonstrated first hand with Lambo who I work closely with - I don't know many of their supercar owners who don't have an Urus on the driveway already or on order. They're still a year behind demand after 18 months making them. The same will happen with AML I am massively confident.

I think you're underestimating the profit margin though by quite a bit.

I don't disagree with that @Holly14! The IPO was shockingly managed... and we're still paying the price now.

But what we are witnessing unfold before us I do honestly believe is the new era. The past as we know it is now immaterial - completely different BoD, mindset, business model and even product line. 100% it's make or break. And a fascinating story developing too with Daimler.

Never underestimate the strength of a brand, with the passionate support of Aston Martin. When emotion is involved - it's a well known fact that logic goes out the window. I made a pretty successful career based around this ;o)

Also consider.... that if the finances were sound, and the path was clear.... this share would be priced 'right'. And there wouldn't be the huge potential upside to our investment, should indeed Stroll and Co get it right. No risk = no reward.

There is the theory that forcing cars onto dealers at cut prices to bolster MCAP prior to an inflated floatation, created much of the problem the current BoD is working to correct..... ;o)

Agree fully @MrTriumph.... Cineworlds business hasn't changed one iota since February when SP was 3x, the business is sat there (here) waiting, chomping at the bit to jump back in as soon as we're allowed. IMHO this is one of the most obvious wins on the stock market medium term.... if all the wannabe wolfs on furlough would just stop freaking out and calm down!

An accidental positive because of Covid - the proposed 2021 aero regs, a massive change, is being delayed to 2022. So the current rocket ship that Racing Point seem to have cobbled together (perhaps copying Mercedes...) will be used next year too, when in green! From pre season testing looked podium contenders for sure. We will find out for sure in just a few days known Austria.
