Seems Maxwell first introduced their ultracaps into GM Autos in 2015, cant find any Maxwell patents regarding stop/start. If this is granted then immediately they are guilty of patent infringement? 2.5m vehicles they state. http://www.maxwell.com/solutions/transportation/auto/start-stop-micro-hybrid stop/start and supercaps will be enormous...anyone introducing them now could also in the near future if granted be guilty as well? Always happy to be corrected on my assumptions and thoughts.

Trying to understand the patent application, does this mean any stop.start using a supercapacitor? Maxwell already have these in over 1m vehicles on the road now....dont know much about patents,whats the chances of this being granted and whats the implications if it is?

The space restrictions or lack off did cross my mind, but i am no engineer so like many on here completely in the dark and relying on what little info we have. Maxwell but gives some indications of where and how supercaps are used in Auto....their list of Auto leaders using their product is beginning to look impressive...our turn very soon. Never had any problem with OS, i enjoy his posts, sure he will continue to contribute. The board in the past had a very very good poster in GW who set the precedent, people followed his example and actually researched and contributed to the board, unfortunately our main poster who is setting the precedent is not quite as educated and seems content on posting insults to make an impression, some posters now think this is acceptable behaviour....real shame.
