Dr. Steve Garwin
“Geology is the basis for everything,” says American geologist Dr. Steve Garwin from Stanford, who uses bornite levels, chalcopyrite ratios and obscure geological correlations in outcrops at surface to look through kilometres of rock. Precise, exacting and theatrical, Garwin has worked all round the Pacific and was chief geologist at gold miner Newmont, but currently leads exploration for Brisbane-based SolGold, staking 72 concessions in Ecuador, hitting a kilometre of copper at its flagship Cascabel project. “It’s big and it’s getting bigger,” he says. Porphyries come in clusters, Garwin adds, so the first need not be the largest.”

They’re no fools - the Solgold shareprice could be about to explode!

Major risk hurdle cleared.
The victory of Guillermo Lasso in the Ecuador elections derisks the SolGold investment case and materially increases the likelihood of a takeover bid in our view. Not only was Lasso the pro foreign direct investment candidate, which should get potential investors off the fence, but the clear win allows for a smooth transition. Combined with encouraging progress on the PFS re-scoping and exploration at Porvenir, we are lowering the discount to 20% from 30% on our valuation. This raises the price target to 44p or just 2.6 weeks of BHP’s spot FCF generation.
News must be imminent based on the 4th March announcement:
“The results of the Heliborne-EM geophysical surveying are sufficiently robust that the Company expects to announce the commissioning of initial reconnaissance drilling program within the month”
Evening Pinot. Thanks for that and here is the link.

Research note
“We expect a bid from BHP, Newcrest or a third party, in the middle of the year as the new government has been seated.”

SolGold has received strong drilling results across it sites, but particularly at the Porvenir project in south Ecuador that drilling continues to intersect visible copper-sulphide mineralisation. Whilst ongoing uncertainty on Ecuador elections weighs on the share price, what is certain is that growth in copper is the most desirable for the major mining companies and SolGold’s Alpala asset is one of very few of significant size being held in a junior mining company. We expect a bid from BHP, Newcrest or a third party, in the middle of the year as the new government has been seated.
It seems that the inquisition , diligence and common sense logic “of a number of shareholders identifies gaps in the information provided by the Company, whether intentional or not.
Why not give us the full picture? - we are supportive shareholders CB, you know!
“............ electromagnetic anomalies, the most prospective of which displayed similar conductive dome geometry.”
The AIM-traded firm said it had now undertaken heliborne electromagnetic geophysical surveying over several licences in the “highly prospective” project.
It said a preliminary overview of the results was “very promising”, with the electromagnetic data interpreted to show several highly prospective geological settings for copper-silver mineralisation.
In particular, the data from PL250/2018 and PL251/2018, which were situated 30 kilometres west of Sandfire Resources' high-grade copper-silver A4 Dome Project, contained several electromagnetic anomalies, the most prospective of which displayed similar conductive dome geometry.

If it outstanding the news has to be released at some point. If the copper grades are better than expected it could be the making of GLR. Would be great if Colin gave another interview to explain the great news.Nice try Billy the Kidder
