this will only go sub 200 when the FTSE index tells it to! in which case any share that anyone holds in any company will also tank it's pants off. simple as that. nothing to do with the individual company!

Dagger, i think you made a good decision getting in on IAG. These current times are a bit frustrating for everyone holding shares at the moment as you can bet very few people have got in at the lowest of the low points. Be patient, this share will bear fruit in time & it's got a high degree of safety. At least it's not tanking anyway!

i been in on all of them at some stage. M&S bought for 85p, sold 2 days later for 95p. BT got stung on that one bought @117 couple days before divi got cut but topped up at 107, then got rid at 114. BP been a nice earner for me been in & out that one 4 times & made a few quid each time. IAG well we'll see but hey i'd rather be in this than BT now. went sub 110 today & it ain't going up fast that one!

Dagger, i'm much the same really. I been ducking & diving on all these shares at some time but for now i plonked a load in on IAG. TBH was gonna pull a chunk out on Friday & stick into RR at 262 which would've done alright. Hey you never know! I've sat on big losses before on some of these shares (Lloyds, RBS, Centrica etc...) they all came good in the end & IAG will be the same. In a few weeks you'll see this share at 250-270 i'm sure. i may sell a few then to dip into other stuff, but i'm holding a good portion of these as they could be 400 by Xmas i think if the news is more positive!

clearly a lot of peeps have bought this share on the recent drop hoping for a fast bounce back & quick quid & out. It's not happening & frustration sets in especially as lots of other shares now temptingly low prices too!

Why would a company with billions in cash equity hold a rights issue? i think people just see this with other shares & assume because IAG SP is a bit low it needs to raise cash. That's not how it works folks.

If Brent Crude is $32 a barrel; Lloyds is 27p; BP is 295p. IAG will be 160. If Brent Crude is $45 a barrel; Lloyds is 35p; BP is 335p. AIG will be 300. This share follows the general market trend, simple as. Ups & downs a bit more than others but follows the trend!

i thought the after hours trades dictated the gap up/down for the next trading day. i never take much notice of them to be perfectly honest. people buy, people sell, doesn't really matter what time it is!

even though he's said it to breakfast news, it's only official when he says it to Parliament, that's when SP reacts. Although i wouldn't expect much more than a 10p rise for today anyway!

The SP will move when Shapps says it. not when Sky or Beeb say it!

was thinking along the lines of more posts at major hub airports rather than more planes!

IAG have liquidity to last at least a year or beyond. they won't be making any cash call soon. My own view is that they expect smaller companies to go to the wall & they pick up the business. All a bit ifs & buts , but that's how it seems to me. Virgin Atlantic are short on the cash & if they fail then BA is the one taking the custom!

All this talk about Rights issues & lack of liquidity etc. Can someone advise me if a company is that short of cash why they only furloughed a third of their workforce?

if you're specific about the price you want to get in at here, just do several different limit orders. depends how much cash you've got & want to risk obviously, but in this type of instance as an example you could have a limit at 235, 225 & 215. All or none of them might trigger a buy. Likliehood here would be none would trigger i think but you'd have lost nothing!

This share has to be the most volatile share on the ftse, up & down by 30-40p sometimes. i'd like to say no way will it go below 230. Reality is it could quite easily go either way. Doesn't bother me that much when you look at the history. if you're patient with this one i think you'll be ok!

i agree with those comments Teddy. This share lost 20% last week. EZJ lost same but placing priced in. US airline stocks lost 10-15% for the week. Any lower than current price is bargain land really.

personally i bought into this share as it has a high margin of safety for an airline stock. i wouldn't have touched it otherwise. People can talk about bankruptcies & bailouts etc, but this is a well run business as far as i can see. The rewards will come in time.

i think the SP will amble in the 2-300 range for some time now. will go outside that range only if very bad or good news either way. Main thing short term will be what mood the whole FTSE index is in this week. i suspect it won't be a good one but time will tell!

The u turn on quarantine should push this SP up. Not hugely as whole market is on down turn. To say it has been priced in is like saying Openreach sale was in the BT share price for any of you who hold those shares!

The SP will rise & fall in both directions while the COVID situation continues. This is the same for all other shares in all industries, & more so when US has bad news. The situation back in March/April was far more unsure & the outlook seems to be a bit more positive with social distancing reduced & other relaxations. We'll see how things go but surely noone buys these shares without expecting a bit of a bumpy ride. No risk/No reward!
