Baz i know it was a great price. I could've got in last week when it was in the 190s but i never try to catch the absolute bottom. Been stung doing that in the past. This seemed to be well supported at the 194 lows so i'm comfortable at my entry price. I was buying this at early 300s back in May/June time so it's really as cheap as chips. I don't really like to call stocks a long term hold in these Covid times as it's all too unpredictable. This is one i will happily hold onto if they keep that divi. Great little income earner!

Jack, The MMs have logarithms set to trade automatically. hence on the trade you see lots of small amounts under A rather than O which is ordinary trades like you or i. on the flip side some call it pump & dump. E.G when big MM underwrites a RI they push price up to sustain PI interest, then dump once the job is done. i understand that market is fairly grim today but nonetheless this share should be rising. I never would have expected it to rise a huge amount though!

bbb, not peeved at all, surprised though. I bought for the divi & intend this as a hold for a while. I expected a rise at least to 210. Doesn't bother me that much as it'll come in time. i know PIs don't influence markets. I was referring to big MMs who have been doing it on all shares. e.g. RR, IAG to name a couple!

The SP is being manipulated that seems pretty obvious to me. Keep price down to push PIs to panic sell at low levels. Pretty commonplace in these volatile times!

Bizarre. 201 SP on better than expected results. This doesn't look good at all. Very disappointing. Seems to be no sentiment for oil stock at all!

if this is the performance based on better than expected results it's worrying to think where the SP would have been if divi cut & bad results!

no bank is giving out an 8% interest rate on investment & a potential 100% capital growth. Investors will pile in here now!

quite pleased i got in here yesterday at £2 rather than wait till today. Should see a good rise today & hopefully sustained for a while!

they've pretty much made a firm commitment to the 5.25cent div per quarter for the foreseeable in the last quarter results!; to pull the div on the very next results would be a disaster for Looney & the BoD. I can't see it happening!

some people take the view it'll drop tomorrow. Maybe it'll drop to say 170. to the doubters i'd say 'why buy it then as it may fall further?' you'd only buy it at 170 if you expect it to increase at some point. So are you buying at 170 to then sell at 200 as you didn't believe it was worth 200 today so why will you believe it's worth 200 in the future if tomorrow's results are poor? This share is ridiculously priced at £2. It was floated in 1987 at £3.50. bizarre

i will not be surprised by a divi cut or cancel the divi for this quarter. The yield is too high. They might do what happened with BT & propose a future rebase. I decided to take a chance & get in now. Risk a 10% dip tomoz i think if divi is cut but the upside here far outweighs the downside. I think if they cut divi Looney's position will be under huge scrutiny!

i just bought a chunk of these at 200.77. Hope tomorrow's results turn out better than the doom & gloom expected. Mind you i was buying & selling these back in May/June time between 300-350 & made a few quid on them back then. Surely can't stay around these dire levels for too long!

yep, kicked myself for missing out on the RR one but noone could've predicted that sort of bounce. I also think that anyone who holds there beyond tomorrow will get shafted! (just my IAG experience talking there!)

It's a valid point LG & while i have to consider myself very pro this share, i've started to question myself on this as i'm missing out on some great buying opportunities as most of my capital is tied up here. The dip from 170 came from nowhere. I expected it to fall back to 160s & flatten there for a bit. In fairness i suppose the surge upward was a bit too fast. Logic tells me to stick with this share though & i'm comfortable with it in so far as i consider it to be a very low risk investment with a potentially massive upside. Anyone who's jumped on a share which seemed to promise huge, quick returns either gets lucky or gets stung. Too often the latter. In these uncertain times i'm going to hold firm with NEX as an investment as i'm still confident it will reward those patient enough to hold out!

Jenn, despite my moans, this is really a surefire safe bet. The fundamentals here are really as good as it gets. The business is so clearly undervalued & has a great pre covid history. Pretty much 25years of YOY growth (bar 2008 crisis) None of the boohoo scandals here but it is sometimes frustrating the lack of updates. Hopefully when new CEO takes the hot seat in Nov that will change! My view is you will not lose here & is an almost sure 1-200% riser in the longer post covid era! Oh & this BB is much more civilised than the BOO one!

those Boohoo ones are way too fast for me. was about to buy some @240. I blinked & they'd become 252. Wish Nex did that LOL

IanB. I don't think i'm wilting as such. Very frustrated though yes. I got in here at similar time as yourself & weathered the lows. Thought we'd seen the end with the spike over 170. I expected a fallback & consolidation from that & wasn't unduly bothered. The Sept update was, while welcome and positive, too non specific. We need some numbers here really. Institution dropping 2% of their holding isn't good either. If the SP falls below the 140 i think we'll see another drop like we did before & i'll be holding a few grand in reserve (sold my Barclays shares today in readiness)
