Not visited itv chat room for a long time. Good to see contrarian still obsessed with itv and still raging.

I would be very happy with another +15%. All part of a balanced portfolio.

I would like to get your advice on when to take profit from us market - when will you be selling / reducing down?.

It’s easy to hate but not a lot of useful analysis from you -still.

Anyone know the reason for the big drop today?

Tom - I would be interested to know the three separate occasions when talks have collapsed. I’m not doubting you but can you remind us all?

nothing unusual here - unless there is something to report that materially impacts the share price there is no need for itv to issue an rms

talks must still be ongoing

if talks had collapsed, according to tomtit / contrarian and yourself the price would have collapsed - it hasn't! therefore nothing to worry about

but if talks do collapse it will be a good buying opportunity - happy days

on a separate not I do agree with one of the itv knockers that a pay-per-view channel would be a good move

If no bid materialises and the share price sinks I'll buy again and rinse and repeat trading the share.

I think itv is the share that keeps giving if you're prepared to trade it.

And surely if the deal was dead the price would have sunk by now - so doesn't that suggest talks are ongoing?

Just imagine if you weren't invested in this share and have missed out on trading all the price rises and falls.

My experience comes from living with an experienced m&a lawyer.

Believe it or not these deals don't just happen over night.

ITV deal will be very complicated. Not just because of regulation hurdles but because of discussions over use of back catalogue.

But you're right - I'm sure we will see the price start creeping up before any announcement.

But with a low average I'm happy to keep holding - I'll enjoy the dividend and wait for what I believe is the inevitable bid for the studio business.

If it doesn't happen in the time frame I've given myself I'll walk away with the profit I have already secured - I'm just waiting for the juicy fat bonus on the shares bouncing further on positive talks.

Agree. Positive update. Interesting comment about the sake and leaseback. Obviously Corvex who recently took the position would like to see this accelerate. I think there’s a right balance to strike between leasebacks and owning property. Sake and leasebacks in my opinion was one of the major contributing factors that took Debenhams down - although changing consumer butter patterns clearly didn’t help!

But I’m feeling positive about this share - good to see Germany also gaining some momentum.

Both parties have acknowledged that preliminary talks are taking place. Maybe nothing comes of it. But unlike previous rumours there is actual acknowledgement . I appreciate it suits some people’s narrative to dismiss the talks. I would expect to hear more by end of Jan early Feb.

For what it's worth the point I have been trying to get across is everyone has a different investment strategy.

I consider ITV one of my more riskier investments but i'm happy with the risk as part of a broader portfolio.

Of course I believe the itv board could have done a better job and a lot of my frustration is with the quality of their communication.

I do believe the investment in itvx was the right call - clearly the media landscape has radically changed and I think the board have attempted to reposition the business to make it more relevant in a market that has changed beyond recognition.

Studios continues to go from strength to strength. Like many people I firmly believe the business is undervalued - especially studios and the content back catalogue.

Nothing might come of the discussions with Comcast. But as we are seeing market consolidation in the US I believe we will see further market consolidation across Europe and the UK.

I accept others might not agree with this. But if people don't agree they don't need to be so aggressive and unpleasant.

People who bought in the low 60s or even 50s must be pretty happy with the boards performance! Add in the divi return and happy days. My investment is looking healthy.

But Contrarian you stay in your padded cell and rage - go for it - get that anger out.

Is it 50 or 67 holdings? You now seem to have trouble counting!

And even if you did have so many stocks - why do you focus over 99% of your posts on itv? A stock you claim you don't even hold!

As I keep saying I'm happy to be invested in itv. My average is well below the current sp and I enjoy the healthy dividend. I understand it could drop back into the 60s - maybe lower - and then I'll pick up a few more.

But please keep the insults and posts coming - you are good value. All be it a little odd.

I don't think so - they have 6%. Strategy will only change if they can get other large institutional investors on board with their view.

Seems positive. I’ve been topping up during the recent sp lows. Good to hear a hedge fund also thinks the business is undervalued. Will be interesting to see how the board react.

Contrarian - I just don't understand why you feel the need to keep commenting so negatively and aggressively.

You just come across as angry, lonely and bitter.

You are also obviously a confused individual - you can't decide to short or go long - really!

Whatever you say or choose to do it will have no material impact on the ITV share price.

That was probably the response I expected from you Contrarian.

I know you think you are providing a public service but without knowing every individuals portfolio and strategy I struggle to understand how you can pass judgement.

We get it that you think ITV is a failing business.

I don't.

I am significantly up, the divi is exceptionally healthy.

I think there will be share value growth. I am happy to have a balanced investment in ITV.

I may be wrong but I'm happy to make my own calculated investment risks.

What bit of that do you not understand?

I guess I just struggle to understand why one individual, who is not invested in ITV, is so obsessed with attacking anyone who is invested in ITV.
