I buy shares based purely on momentum, hold for a year and then sell. It takes all the emotion out of it, although it's still hard to let them losers go.

Still, owning SDRY shares is enough to drive you mad, the forecasts of 300 / 400 look a long way off.

Neil is one of the many doubters on here over the years but every time OCDO has gone from strength to strength. Best investment I have ever made.

I agree with all that you say apart from the bit about buying more when the price drops, a falling price is often a warning sign.

Agreed, anybody who predicts a future price is a np brainer is a fool, nobody can predict the future. From past experience 55% of my investments go up, 45% go down, I haven't a clue what will happen to any individual share and neither does anybody else.

I think today's fall when everybody had been predicting a rise just confirms that most PIs have no clue as to what will happen.
I will stick with holding my shares for 12 months based on momentum and ignore the daily noise

What other shares do you have that go down 90% in less than a year? So I agree with Panda.

Hi CLUEDIN, I hold my shares normally for 12 months and then take my profit or loss. One of the hardest disciplines is to accept a loss and move on, nobody backs winners all the time. So long as you have more winners than losers you will be OK.

Yep it hasn't been much fun supporting Wednesday these last few years, at least the blades are doing terrible this year.

Momentum is not just for day traders. I hold my shares for at least 12 months. It works very well for me, I make on average 16% per annum.
I do not understand the basis of your statement "a small aspect of what someone should consider".
Momentum is a strategy that is tried and tested and shown to work consistently over the long term.

Nobody can predict the future, history would say the market is more likely to go higher than lower over any period of time so sitting on cash is not a good strategy.
In terms of CPI short term momentum is a positive but long term momentum is a negative. In addition management has a history of poor performance.

You are right, I must admit I am a bit narrow minded with my investments, just based on momentum. It works for me with OCDO being my best pick over the years.

A month ago I was at 183 ave, not at 114. That is bad, it means you have made further investments and you are losing money on them and your overall loss is higher.

A month ago there was no news of vaccines. Now there is. That has caused the fall. The decisions on vaccines aren't going to be reversed so why would the share price fall be reversed?

A bit premature with that statement value.
I am happy with my investment with OCDO but I don't understand the fixation with daily movements, I will hold for a year and then review, daily moves are just noise unless there is a major announcement.

Yep, up 70% in just over 2 months, glad I held on to them.
