The core issue is greed. We all know (and read daily on LSE) how folk have made fortunes on the market and newbies think it's simple. Everyone knows shares can only go up in price, don't they??? (EME...)
When I started properly October last, I used LSE extensively to choose my candidates for my 1000 quid burn thinking smart folk in chat forums knew all the stuff to which I wasn't privy. I only ended up in profit thanks to GEDW <enk> and SAGE <vgm which I bailed until I got my own back on it> but at one point, was sitting looking at my 1000 pound Portfolio being worth under 300 quid. In fairness, it was only the day of the 10p RBS shares which turned things around as I asked my wife if I could spend another 1000 on RBS shares.
The quick profit meant the pair of us started working together, making higher DAILY profit bankings than we'd made throughout our business careers - two heads better than one. Now our daughter also works with us.
I highlighted DAILY as my previous big bucks have taken years to achieve.
I'm liking Premium as it's allowing folk who're commited to talk sensibly (rather than "some folk who should be commited".) The more brains the better.
What I just revealed is if I say something, it's probably wrong 'cos I glanced at the financials and ran some numbers and basic charts, my wife ran the historicals and director history, then argued with daughter about Ichi! Then we made a decision.
