That's what I'm doing. Patience is the key I find and invariably, missing an entry point doesn't hurt whereas getting the wrong one always hurts!

Err, that's probably why it's going up as people are believing (hoping) it'll do a PXS. If that's the case, the increase will be short lived. If it relaxes by another 0.4p before growing again, I'd call it safely on an upward trend.

Find it hard to say KiS without thinking of that sodding advert! I'm continuing to use 5D/60M RSI3 for entry points on shares which are in a nice monthly posit. TEP is a bit maxed out currently for an entry point. AVE on the other hand were interesting yesterday and may provide another entry point today to retest 42p sometime within the next week.

JLP still are looking sane but a tad slow. KiS's pet, HMS looks good for another 10p on the current cycle. And to my eye DWY haven't finished settling yet. Oh, short term, VIY are at a sane entry point with an exit in the mid 6's (I think....) Looked at the charts for PXS this morning. Bit of an ouch going on - was going to day trade it from 5 to 6p but decided to play safe as the trend for the next couple of days shows around 2.4p is possible. On a brighter note, I'm showing a FTSE breakout sometime soon after the 22nd Sept which concurs with my expectation of a short term dip with entry point for the blues.

How're you seeing CDI. I sold out at 5.11 and decided to let it retrace. Do you think 440 is viable - I'm seeing entry around 450 or so.

Sorry been so quiet recently. Finding it a bit overwhelming the 'quality' of the chat on Premium recently. I've been re-writing my analysis software over the last week as I've given up on matching ADVFN's algo so decided it's safe to create my own as I've now extremely large data samples from which to build. Bit of an odd day today. Took profit from BARC and XTA, expecting to buy in later but the market went flat. Weird.

We've held back funds for the FTSE 100's as the market looks like retracing pretty soon. Too many of the big guys are on a downcycle which looks like causing a collective dip sometime this month. I recon the anniversary of Lehmans may still be the final trigger - notice Doomberg were picking up on it before the bell this morning.

You may wish to view UKC as it looks viable on every position.

Read your techs. Thanks. You're perspective seems to be confirming my own skewed way of looking at things. I'm trying to keep a sane head on this but a fan club has formed in Regular with very few experienced folk posting. One person speculated that VIY is about to do a PXS (which would be nice but equally daft as there is no fiscal data) Think I'd better restrict my Regular postings to a minimum as I've no idea where this is going to really end up. Last Monday, the volumes were 14mln and no effect on SP. Friday was 20mln(ish) and SP moved. Normal volumes are 2-4mln. Thanks again.

I'd be grateful if you could have a glance at VIY's position. I only see legs to reach 7.7 on the current cycle but am confused by the speed of the breakout this week. And very confused at how to lock in profits!!! Decided to 'top slice' if that's the right term by selling some shares yesterday which represented the value of my profit this cycle in VIY so dumped 15,000 of my holding. But of course, that effectively means my remainder was averaged up - unless the SP comes down to the 5p range in which case I can use that profit to buy back in and average down. My usual method is simple - sell them all at a top and wait for the retrace to buy back in but worried about effectively locking myself out as it seems to have broken trend. Any opinion welcome. I'm going north for the weekend, so will thank you Monday evening when I return.

This 5D60m thing is proving viable as you'll notice from RBS today. Broke my golden rule by re-entering at 8.05am as the chart had an RSI of 20. Now starting to wonder whether it's not just the first high of the day in the morning but, in a down market, it could also be the low of the day. Rather horrified by how much money I'd spend by 8.20am between Lloy, XTA, and RBS.

Just glanced at it. I do like the underlying post but it needs to settle back a wee bit today/tomorrow. Resistance at 197,& 236
