Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
That's fair Rumfuddle, but I think there are still a few realistic optimists around with a different perspective and level of maturity who value open dialogue and accept the good with the bad. I'm cut from that cloth. Of course there are people who work on the extremes, but I think the majority of us are somewhere in between. Perhaps I'm wrong.
IPman - absolutely not, but sharing is caring. I've raised this topic for the greater good. We are a community and all in this together and I'd expect other people to do the same if the shoe was on the other foot. As per another comment, I have reached out to MVR. We need to understand the reasons and I will share any response I get accordingly.
5Orrell,
1) UK based
2) Hadn't heard of them until the RNS but yes, I like their music. It was a good gig last night and I like the fact this service gives me access to new artists
3) Yes I am invested - perhaps too heavily
4) Yes I have watched all of the recent free gigs
BadBat - this is my majority holding. I've been invested since March 2018 and have only ever added to my position, never selling a share. Always post negative comments? Are you serious? I am a massive fan of the company and my posts demonstrate that, but you can't just expect people to stay silent on the negatives. Awareness and feedback is what drives progress. I am optimistic on the long term but also very realistic. Let's call a spade a spade here. We have a potential trust issue to address and I am taking that conversation head on on behalf of us all so we can try figure out what the hell is going on. I've emailed them and am awaiting feedback.
IPman - I'm happy to drop it. I actually wanted to share my experience as a user and long term investor given the potential trust concerns but it's clear that many people are so closed off to the idea of shortcomings and are defensive. I will take this up directly with MVR this morning and let the board here know if I receive a response.
BadBat, I don't actually care if you filter me. Stay within your echo chamber. I have only ever posted factual comments. It's amazing how immature people can be when a negative situation can arise. I think you have a lot of growing up to do!
BadBat - do explain how you think a WiFi connection has any influence on the changing source of a content stream received from a company server? I'm intrigued how this can be MY fault.
Sarnie - I'm getting straight on it this morning given the potential breach of trust. It has to be reported and they need to own their mistake
A1EX, appreciate the clarity.
Sarnie, I have never had an issue like this in the past. I have had a freeze/buffering issue with John Legend on Oculus but that is likely to be system load related. It wasn't only me who experienced this either on Saturday's show. I have fibre broadband.
My internet connection would have nothing to do with what Melody pushed out as content from their server. It's a problem their side, not mine.
A1ex...there's no if about it. I saw what I saw clear as day and my app was up to date. Not sure what you are suggesting with the "hmmmm" comment?
@Mel - I updated the Oculus app minutes before the show started so I am certain that was not the issue
@Hobbit - it is possible that there was footage from a dress rehearsal, but irrespective of whether that was a recording of a practice session or a pre-recording being passed off as a live gig, I feel there should be some serious explanation.
It was short lived, probably somewhere between 6 and 10 mins in on Oculus and lasted for no more than 5 or so seconds. Forced a closure and restart of the app and then it was fine thereafter.
I can't actually believe what I was watching. A few minutes into the gig, there was some sort of technical issue with the server and they cut away from The Score in the studio to a different recording of Machine Gun Kelly in the studio. This needs explaining pronto and I am pretty raging as a shareholder. It casts huge doubt on whether this is infact a "live event" as advertised. Whilst it was a good set this was a monumental f**k up!!!
Despite the balls up, we have good MVR branding tonight, nice visuals on the boards and the band is great.
OMG what a botch up. They just cut to Machine Gun Kelly doing his thing in the new studio before kicking people out. This is clearly not a live show.
PR nightmare.
For an idea of where this is going, you just have to look at who Melody are following on Twitter. Pretty much all of the artists on the app to date are followed by Melody but only around 12% of their catalogue is exposed. We are yet to see who else they are in bed with, but directionally speaking, there are some massive names that MVR follow which could give clues on what's to come in the short to mid term with pre-recorded content.
Eminem, J-Lo, Beyonce, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dog, Elton John, Dolly Parton, Alicia Keys, Metallica, Harry Styles, Jonas Brothers, Pitbull, Shakira, Pink, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Maroon 5, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Billie Eilish, Shania Twain, Rita Ora, Backstreet Boys, Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, Gaga, Selena Gomez to name a few.
Fear not, I believe there is a rollout plan, building with smaller artists to prove the concept before they deploy the big guns.
100% agree on the wall advertising potential there Ferrisc. That backdrop has so much branding and monetisation potential, similar to the dynamic electronic sponsor boards at football stadiums. Wouldn't surprise me if they have already built this into the design.
Looking forward to tomorrow's live event now. The score have some bangers on YouTube, sound similar to Imagine Dragons.
That's good news if it was more of an isolated Oculus issue. Some quality songs in that set though. Glad I stayed up to watch. His music and voice is class.
Much better on mobile
