Worth a watch on Oculus if you get chance! Looks like I had early access due to an older version of the app. Updated afterwards and now seeing the same restrictions as everyone else. That venue in Denver is something else though. Great atmosphere.

Italian - it may be the case that the recent investment may be required to support further headcount expansion to cover the Americas and Canada. Pure speculation of course but makes sense if taking a long term view. Top down recruitment approach seems to be in play for the US, plus they have a global talent manager in the team to facilitate.

There are 88 people connected with the company on LinkedIn. A couple of freelancers, 3 in a divisionalised US structure (which looks like it may be in the early stages of being built out with a President, VP content and EA), but mostly based in or around London.

Granted, but seeing as followers of Wiz are far more likely to be interested in the live event on Venues than a pre-recorded event, I highly doubt the team are going to get enough of a small percentage to trouble them. It would be different if any of these artists were pushing it. The only artist I've seen trying to drive MVR off their own back is Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.....5pm ish yesterday.

I agree with the long term strategy but I don't think this event has anything to do with stress testing systems. It just feels like a lazy PR attempt to react to external activity. We know that MVR can comfortably deal with 100k and 250k users from previous live events (Wireless and GMA). The lack of organisation and artist socialisation around this week's series of free shows suggests to me that they are not expecting daily adoption of the same magnitude and system reliability is not an immediate concern.

UrbanWolf - yes, I was aware of the rollout plan, but I was physically watching 4 different gigs in the early hours of this morning on Oculus. They had either intentionally or unintentionally allowed this to happen.

Ok, so I tried the app on both Oculus Go and mobile. Agree that clarity of Khalid was great on mobile and the Director's Cut jump spot was a nice feature. Some weird things happening though. I was kicked out of the mobile app twice with one long buffer. On Oculus, I actually had open access to 4 of the 6 free concerts advertised in the menu (Khalid, Wiz Khalifa, Julia Michaels and Lewis Capaldi) but couldn't get in to Imagine Dragons or Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. On mobile, more free gigs were advertised in the menu but the only show the app would let me access was Khalid. Not sure if this inconsistency between devices was intentional or not from both an advertising and access perspective. Also had some freeze issues on Oculus but it was far more immersive. Really looking forward to the new headset, whenever that finishes testing. A few surprises tonight but it's awesome technology.

Would love to be proven wrong. I don't see what you see though Stu222. No significant movement in sensor tower data so far today. Maybe after a refresh tomorrow.

I tend to agree Puddin. For me, this announcement was always going to be more of an underwhelming, reactionary gimmick to maintain image rather than being a considered tactic to drive new user acquisition. I'm still expecting another RNS tomorrow or latest Thursday morning with a more meaningful update. I just don't see how these free shows are going to drive demand without the backing of the artists on social media.

May I suggest all interested shareholders on this board monitor the following 2 links (especially over the next few days with free shows), flipping between US and UK to see trends. Should also draw your attention to the general rise in grossing stats over the last 90 days which considers in-app purchases. Also note, MVR currently has a far higher category rank on Android than it does on iOS. Looks like some pretty useful chart insights but can't comment on credibility.

Agree Embers. In my opinion, there are three game changing factors for increased adoption and monetisation:

1 - smaller hardware with higher quality visual displays
2 - P2P interactivity during the event
3 - the ability to have personalised advertisements and merchandise options

Whilst developments are happening with infrastructure, education and relationships, we are nowhere near saturation point and there are plenty of exciting things for MVR to develop in the years ahead. I've read some market intelligence that suggests stay at home experiences are expected to grow and flourish by 2040. It's a waiting game with lots of highs and lows along the way.

If patterns of behaviour are similar in US and UK, that could be significant when you consider a Parks report on US VR adoption with broadband providers (data now a little stale and probably understated given growth in the sector last year). A 2019 article suggests 8% of broadband customers own a VR headset, of which around 30% expect to use it for live stream events and 45% expect to use them for general entertainment videos. The merger broadens fixed line capabilities with 34 m customers and opens doors to push the VR agenda with an extra 5m Virgin Media customers.
