Hello GS congrats on you son getting into Derby Uni.. Derby is a fine place and has lots going for it. Ether doing well enough so wife should be happy.... GS ... Task ... Malt .whisky....... Task as it turned out I did quite well on my last two trades Short AUD NZD and short USD JPY.......... didnt hold closed them both with some decent points, so have booked a couple of flights up to Edinburgh and know doubt will be having a dram or two. Task wise decision to dump your GBP EUR trade as it shot up another 60 odd more points after 12 noon .. it tried to hold on the trend line resistance but the bulls were too strong for it.... I am not doing much better my USD JPY short was doing fine until news came through that Congress had made a deal and government are getting back to work.......... then the dam thing shot up.. I am holding..... as its in my view still bearish.. my last week trade of AUDNZD short has come back down to break even now turned round in the Asian session and going back up......... humbug .EUR USD long about break even i think as i type.. the thinking behind this one is Angela Merkel and social democrat news...... plus its still bullish on the long term ....... I think i will be holding all three of these position all week......... I agree with you re forex there are so many parts to it and it is very complex. If you can crack it your a genius.... Like you i cant remember all the stuff i need to know. However if you are right on a currency pair then you can also trade the indice at the same time as its ususally going the opposite way............. It may be better for us to just get to know a couple of currencies and stick with them.. I tend to analysis about 20 odd of them every day looking for the best set up and it makes my brain hurt. short on USD JPY long on EUR USD ............. managing my AUD NZD which is better than it was but not looking brilliant ... With Luck your GBP EUR will hold below the trend line and give you a better exit position

Just looking at your GBP EUR Short Its a difficult one to call... There is a descending trendline and the very beginnings of divergence on the 4 hrs. A bear flag on the hourly and last candle on the hourly was an indecision candle but its not clear. I guess it depends on the fundamentals next week ... When you are trading GBP EUR you need to keep an eye on the DAX and FTSE.......... If the FTSe goes up the GBP should come down.......... Also you had that big rise in the DAX so in theory ...... I think the euro should have come down. It did come down on Friday but at midday went back up again..... Its just ranging... Well i wish you luck with it its but there are quite a lot of fundamental announcements in connection with the EUR and the GBP next week .. GBP EUR could really rock and roll next week it probably one to avoid if you can get out Monday or Tuesday would be best if not good luck ...

Hi Task that brilliant your Dax trade awesome... and your GBP EUR I had a stab at the dax but in and out i was mainly trading the USD CAD short after the Canada int rate announcement it jumped about like crazy but i came out well enough with plenty of points. I also had a short on USD JPY not a lot of points. Then went short on AUD NZD was doing really well but it turned and like your GBP EUR need to manage it out and i am still in for the long haul i think. Not a brilliant week for me but ok ish picked up some points shorts on a few shares i dare not mention.. Yes the cave is only visited by you and me just lately . We will have to keep the candle lit in the top front alcove of the cave so fellow traders know we are still here

Hi Task good luck if you decide to trade USD JPY. keep an eye on the Nikkei if it keeps going up then USD JPY short is good. Yes the DJ i missed most of the uptrend but i am going to be all over the Dow down trend when it happens but for now its so bullish!! .... really peed off about my silver trade oh well. Gl all

Hi task got stopped out of silver for 39 points !! yikes.......... went back into USD CAD short picked up another 41 points ( over a few trades ) its better but still down on the week............. Yes just looked at USD JPY going like a rocket !! Typical cant believe it after yesterday !! Yes Task good idea to have a break from the markets......... if i get three trades wrong in succession i dont trade for the rest of the day as i am out of sync with the market .. fresh eyes fro tomorrow. Ah yes the old IG platform....I loved that platform but use the new one now except on my mobile phone . Gl all

Picked up 34 points shorting USD CAD...... DAX and a point off RBS lost 26 points shorting GBP NZD. Still in silver but in the red Fairly rubbish week so far getting close to break even but down on the week . Good luck all

Task only just got on, so sorry didn't get to answer your last post. I also got stopped out for 41 points but the break out from the bottom was a false break out which then sent it south again..... will need to re look tomorrow .. I picked up 10 points by going long on gold which off set my loss a bit and am currently long on silver. bit of a rubbish day to be honest fib extension tool ............ just right click in any space on any chart in IG it brings up some menus. Then go into drawings they are both in there... Fib extension very rarely used though in F/X ........... 99% of the time i use the fib retracement tool. Fib from swing high to swing low from top to bottom or bottom to top depending on the trend etc Bit of a rubbish day to be honest but hopefully tomorrow will be better Good luck

If the Nikkei keeps dropping its 65 points down..........we are in trouble as the USD dollar is really struggling.

Well its certainly trying to move up there, the issue has been the Japan 225 (Nikki) dropping today and the USD dollar still bearish........... but its trying .......... Just not trying hard enough!!

Re CFD's sound best avoided then! yes, hard luck on cable.. glad you are getting it back now. I had three shorts on EUR GBP only one of them worked so down about 8 points but now i look att eh chart its very jumpy so probably not the best currency to trade Had a stab at shorting USD CAD but took a couple points out of it as it was jumping around to fast fro me. I have been long on USD JPY since 3.30 hrs but not in profit yet.? Task do you mean a fib extension tool or a fib retracement tool ? why not use IG charts they have both. Are you long or short on USD JPY? Ive recently written to Hot to wish him well but have had a reply as yet

Hi Task............ just only log on and seen your post.... looks like your GBP USD trade didn't work out too well.... at least you were protected with your stop... good luck on your next one I been short on USD JPY today got about 22 points and closed out early as USA were on holiday today so it made trading a bit odd, not enough volatility.. GS i am sure you will be back trading shares again. just a temporary blip we all get.. If you are struggling to find good information you could try subscribing to a professional service like Investors chronicle or Share center etc they tends to have fundamental info and much more, info than any freebies. Yes i still own ISAT currently at a loss 25% down! i just hang on to it for its dividend I would love to see it go to �6.50 little own �8 25 Its one of these companies which gets shorted by the funds.... I live in hope as its a solid company and needs a break........ A bit like NG again no real reason for the long term decline.

Hi Task no i didn't get any of he GBP pairs ups got a few shorts off of them but really missed all the big moves last week.. Just looked at your CLW ....... caution....... yes it picked up from the double / tripple bottom in December but now it just turned from the double top from October and could come back all the way down a gain ? Yes its pricey dropped 90 points on Friday Its a deep pocket long termer Ive never done CFD's have you used them long?

Looks like you are doing really well Task very well in fact .......... yesterday i traded EUR NZD... EUR GBP all shorts ...... Today i did EUR GBP and US Crude again both shorts, small amounts. Wasn't about much and hate leaving things running..... Did OK though and happily up on the week.. No i am not currently trading crypto currencies they are a bit too volatile for me and there is so much else to trade ........ never say never though. Ive traded lean hogs though once ! Not trading tomorrow ...... Mrs Optimus about, so shopping, coffee and comedian night then pub. A nice end to the week.. Happy trading everybody

Only just heard that south Korea have banned all crypto currencies they were quite involved in them so i dont know whats going on. Ether has held up better then Bitcoin, ripple and usd cash coin. so you should should still be in the money but like we always said Crypto are volatile. good luck

Not offended in the least .......... It takes an awful lot to offend me so dont worry. There is a lot i could say about the punch and spirit shenanigans but i cant put it in print..... The major difference is that Marstons are a brewery as well as property owners they own over 1500 odd pubs. Plus they have over 1250 rooms in some lodges.. A work force of 13000 people ... Very true sentiment has been negative to the pub trade but i think its on the turn
