The share buy back its been going on it seems almost forever. Are the MMs manipulating the price for NG to get them on the cheap? Who would it surprise, nobody?
Why do NG want to buy so many shares back and put them into treasury? They currently have 219,455,325
Are they scared of a hostile takeover, the more shares they have in treasury the better it would be for that purpose, a controlling interest
So in theory the more shares NG buys back the better the value of the remaining shares for the shareholders and the SP should go up, but as we all know it hasn't, it keeps going down.
I am not an accountant but I know that share buy backs are sometimes done to improve companys financial figures. EG: to improve their P/ E ratio or EPS earnings per share, this isnt always good for the shareholders.
I would like to know what they are going to do with these re purchased shares. They can put them back on the market any time they want too, they are not retired shares. They are just sitting there for who knows what, to raise funds maybe or director giveaways. .
I dont know, but I am a somewhat disgruntled investor who found the special dividend earlier this year a total farce, only to be followed up with a descending SP but like all the other PIS on here I would like to see these going back to reasonable levels.
