JB, apparently the barcodes are for greetings messages?
These QR codes hold lots of information so why not tracking information as well as revenue protection data?

AngerSharkz, if you want to turn down the next dividend payment then I suspect that you will be very much in the minority. We shall see on Tuesday.

AngerSharkz, if you look at the figures then even a 4% pay deal (don't forget that's year on year) is likely to see RM UK in trouble going forward especially if the BoD want to continue with a progressive dividend payment.
It's either going to be financial incompetence or pure greed that will see MrT out of the door.

Simon Thompson and the BoD obviously have an ideology of the future however even if the CWU don't finish his tenure at RM UK then economic headwinds most certainly will. The £400m package handed over to the shareholders was authorised long before Vlad The Invader decided that he wanted a bigger back garden and the BoD were probably thinking that 2% would probably cover the pay negotiations back in October 2021.
So, what's a CEO to do? He says that there is now no money in the pot but will he be able to find the £126m to pay for the next dividend payment? If so that will certainly further upset an already fired up workforce and be seen as a deliberate act of provocation and I believe that's exactly what he wants. Is he on DK's payroll? Who knows?
Even if this issue were to be resolved tomorrow, I also believe that given the economic headwinds and the shackles of the USO that unless an amicable resolution is found then RM UK without GLS will be doomed to failure.

JB, I am assuming that the ballot announcement was engineered to happen just before the AGM.
As I posted earlier, MrT fully expects the ballot result to be a massive yes vote but certainly not the best news to be taking into the AGM. Is there going to be a vote on the autumn dividend payment or has this already been passed?

Unite/CMA withdraw 'work to rule' action

Following productive discussions with Unite/CMA we are pleased to advise that they have informed us in writing they are withdrawing the 'work to rule' action between 15th and 19th July.

It is important that we do all we can to protect our service and prevent potential disruption to our customers and consumers, especially given how damaging industrial action of any nature could be in the current environment.

The Unite/CMA ballot will now canvas the balloted population to end the dispute, including the strike action on 20th to 22nd July.

Whilst we welcome Unite/CMA's decision today, the ballot remains live and we need to continue to prepare our contingency plans. Managers who have been asked to support the operation should continue to undertake the relevant training sessions.

After a short Google search, Simon Thompson has worked for Honda Europe, lastminute.com and Apple Inc (capacity unknown), Chief Product Officer at Occado Group PLC, Global Head of Digital Commerce at HSBC Holdings PLC, Managing Director of WM Morrison Supermarkets PLC, Managing Director of the NHS Test and Trace programme and CEO/Executive Director of Royal Mail PLC.

MrT posted on Workplace at the beginning of July that he fully expected the CWU ballot result to be an overwhelming yes vote but was adamant that "we need the changes to pay for the pay", which I read as "you lot need to fund your own pay deal".
I am absolutely certain that MrT and the BoD are fully prepared for industrial action by the CWU represented grades, however I am not sure if he has experienced a staff revolt before as a CEO? Perhaps MrT imagines himself as the captain of the Andrea Gail?

I'm hearing from the grapevine that UNITE have suspended their industrial action?
I had started moving some funds around in preparation for the last two weeks in July but perhaps it will have to wait until August now?

Redceo, we were fully staffed up on Monday night so could have dealt with the parcels, no problem.
Unfortunately MrT made a pledge to the board of 60% parcels automation before the AGM. So far the closest that we have got is 56% at the beginning of July so the thinking was that if we could swamp the large offices then 60% should be achievable?

Isleworthspy I don’t know if you were being serious when you said you will strike for a day and then book overtime to clear the backlog the next day that is playing into Royal Mail hands . A one day strike once a week won’t make any difference to Royal Mail it would be just like when we have a bank holiday we do 6 days work in 5 days .to disrupt Royal Mail you need to strike at least twice a week and I don’t think the workforce will be up for that .by the way I’m not looking for an argument ilseworth your one of the people who does talk a bit of sense .Has like me you actually do the job and know I physically demanding it is

We may not have to strike. We have management helping us..... Thanks to MrT and his drive to 60% parcels automation.
On Monday night our office and another office that doesn't yet have a parcel machine were instructed to send our second class parcels to a large office with a parcel machine. The large office was swamped with parcels and couldn't cope so they sent the parcels back the next morning so we had about 60% returned, which are now first class items....plus our parcels for Tuesday, so we didn't have the capacity or staff to sort manually. Marvellous....

AngerSharkz, I will admit to not doing any research on this but are there any companies on the FTSE 100/250 that have similar fundamentals to RMG in terms of turnover, profit, assets, dividend payments etc...?
If so, who are they and what share price fluctuations do they suffer from?
