Of course, Boulby need to dig deeper as the polyhalite seam is below their potash level and the seam is somewhat thinner at Boulby.

Boulby’s mine is 1400 metres deep and Sirius’s will be 1520 metres deep. Woodsmith mine is about 200 metres above sea level. Boulby about 80metres. So, both mines will be at the same depth below sea level or thereabouts which makes sense as it is the same seam.

Personally, I think it is a Down Day if the price falls while the market is open. I don’t really care what the price is when the shop is shut.

I’m sure the BOD will be keen to pay a small dividend as soon as income allows. Whether this is as early as 2022 or as late as 2026 doesn’t matter to me. The sp will be higher if they pay the debt off first.

One day we could be producing 20,000,000 tonnes (that’s a lot of dumpy bags from Jewsons). If profit is a modest 50 USD that’d be a billion dollars that could be used, in part, to pay dividends. A penny per share would do me fine, 5p would be fantastic.

Maybe they’ll look to increasing to 40 mtpa. Maybe the increased width of the tunnel could cope with that.

I’m within 3 miles of the main site.

Work us progressing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are closer to fruition now than any time in the past. The sp doesn’t reflect this fact.

I agree about BH and the free buffets. The MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland is a somewhat more credible supporter and one of the better MPs that we have to suffer imho.

This project is massive for this area. It’s pretty darn big for post-Brexit Britain.

We are down 13p which equates to about £600 million of market cap. So, the sp reflects all if the negative news but none if the positives such as contracting Drives 2 and 3 of the tunnel and bringing Jacobs on board.

The extra £500 million RNS wasn’t so bad. It’s not as if the extra money was being wasted on something insignificant. A revised tunnel design following the seismic surveys and contracts signed with world class suppliers who shoulder some of the risk going forward. Bad news would have been if they’d built the tunnel (or a part of it) before realising it needed to be wider.

Market Makers (as they are often referred to) have little interest in Sirius Minerals. It is a small company providing little profit on each trade.

The big institutions will be interested in 2021 but they don’t risk their clients’ money unnecessarily. There are plenty of companies that provide a dividend now so Sirius is not particularly interesting to them.

Buy on the dips. Many people far smarter than most of us LSE posters own lots of shares, Jim G for one. If he says to buy on the dips, I for one won’t argue. I’m fairly confident that this is a dip.

What we have now is a number of building sites that would cost quite a bit to make safe if the project fails. We have some significant liabilities that will eat in to money that is in the bank.

We have nothing more than hope until the mine is producing and making a profit.

Next year if Stage 2 funding is in the bag we’ll still have nothing but a number of building sites and a huge mortgage.

Until we have get dividends we have to pray that the mine gets built.

Until then, expect more peaks and troughs and enjoy the ride.

How can this be put together to create a good news story?

It was clear that the tunnel needed to increase in diameter. I’m not so sure that it was as clear that the shaft to launch the TBM would need to be wider.maybe it was inferred.

It has been a lovely, crisp and sunny day in Whitby. Drive past the site and all looks well. 24 hours each day, 7 days each week, work continues.

I look forward to watching the ships passing by filled with Poly4 to feed the world.

Typical of Labour to give away other people’s money. I see it as just another Labour tax. It would be better if the money went to improved pensions.

I think employee share ownership is a good thing but it is one that the employee should choose to take part in. Would our servicemen be given shares in the Defence budget? Or our nurses a share in pharmaceutical companies?

The cost has increased. That cannot be denied. The seismic surveys of the tunnel route allowed an informed decision to be made to increase the diameter of the tunnel and its wall-thickness. This came at a cost but at least they found out before the tunnelling machines ere delivered. It’s called project MANAGEMENT.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if there were a few more issues that need to be managed over the next few years. If costs increase again so be it. Forward sales agreements in excess of $1 billion make the project worth every cent.
