The company is unlikely to provide much detail on receipt of any particular commitment letter imho. The banking group will be assessing risks independently and each will have their on preferred interest rate at which to lend. I wouldn’t expect a Dutch auction although such a process might benefit Sirius (anyone who loaned at Zopa in the early years might remember the Listings area which operated this way).

Sirius need to obtain as much commercial debt as possible before HMG will underwrite a single penny. This may be significantly more than 50% of the required $3 billion - possibly all of it. The more that they can secure so the average interest rate will increase. They expect 6-7% but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was higher - maybe around 8%.

Not long to wait now.

I was at the presentation too. I recall that I left feeling even more satisfied that my investment is in good hands.

However, I wouldn’t pin too much blame on Asher (the geologist and presenter at the Institute) if funding isn’t secured by April. I hope that it will be and I’d be very surprised if Sirius didn’t deliver.

The truth is that Sirius need Stage 2 funding in H1 otherwise the project will be delayed and any delay will increase costs - meaning more funding required and more delays. A downward spiral that we really don’t need.

If Stage 2 isn’t achieved on time I would like to think that thwe blame would lie entirely at the feet of the banks.

That said, I expect Stage 2 to be complete on time and on reasonably good terms given the ongoing risks.

The only potentially valid reason for consolidation would be to make the sp similar to that of other companies in the sector. But there are none at the same stage of construction as Sirius and therefore no reason to consolidate. If we are still 23p in 5 years’ time maybe a 1 for 10 consolidation will be appropriate.

I understand why there are those that don’t believe that Sirius will deliver.

The sp could fall 5p or so I guess if news is delayed or is not great. It could rise significantly more if the news is early and as expected.

My money is on good news and I’m usually a pessimist. I started buying at 7p and now have 220,000 shares. If it goes belly up then guess what, I won’t miss the money much (it’s not giving me anything at the moment - no dividends). If it goes well then maybe I’ll enjoy some of the returns but I’m not an extravagant spender. My kids will thank me one day.

Just a few more weeks/months and the future will be revealed.

I would think that TorP agreements hold more water than you suggest.

But, so long as the bankers think they are of value then I’m happy. The product (Poly4) will sell easily and at a significant profit. If the TorP owners are allowed to renege on the deals there’ll be plenty of other customers queuing up to buy Poly4.

Of course there are ‘dark forces’ at work. Whether they are the industry’s established players or simply people playing devil’s advocate., they are around every corner.

But the fertiliser market is big enough for all. If the established players were worried they could buy a piece of the (Sirius) action on the open market.

A price war is unlikely. It would need to start before Sirius secure forward sales agreements and Stage 2 funding because afterwards, Sirius could compete on price due to their low operating costs.

Time waits for no man - and especially not CF.

I live a few miles from Woodsmith and the work that has been done so far is breathtaking. I really don’t see it as an all or nothing gamble. This mine will be built. Sirius will build it. I have no doubts.
