The yield at this level is 4% and the divi was covered over twice by LAST year's earnings. Since many of its large holdings are in sectors which have become rather in vogue (energy and minerals as well as greeern resources) it is realistic to suppose that it will earn significantly more in the next reporting season and therefore probably increase the dividend. So in my book that is not a reason to sell for now.

Whichever way you translate this, it does not excite me as a small shareholder.

I am, like many others, so far underwater I need a decompression chamber, BUT.... I still believe the naysayers here are being unrealistic. Just because Rathlin have got their knickers twisted with the latest exploration does not mean that all is lost or that this will not ultimately prove to be a success. My hunch is that their inability may well lead to no more borrowing being offered them to continue and we may buy them out for 1p and make a better job of exploration here.
Alternatively a major might decide it is worth their while. Either way, Victory is looking good and this SP is laughable.

Nice to see you are back, AM! I do not theink this share will be around in 'the long term'. If it cannot repay the bondholders next year it is probably already quietly getting its IP valued and asking certain parties in the industry 'What if this became available ?' And if they are not doing that, perhaps they should be!

...is good for bank shares and I believe only the beginning. I foresee £5+ plus here a year down the road.

Be very lucky to see them get near that now and if you hold a balanced pf, the rest would be massively underwater if BERI did get there. I am as sorry as the next sucker but that's the market now and with Boris not even looking for anything (except probably a successor) the bloodbath is set to get worse. I am just hoping these will go over £1 - and that my doom-laden prophesy is wrong!

this was my field before I retired and under normal circs the appeal would stand a much better than 50% chance of going our way because Planning Inspectors tend to take some notice of the planning officer's recommendation. The trouble here is that the Inspectorate is also more conscious of the general political climate! In any event it is likely to be 6-9 months for the holding of the Appeal and another couple for the result. I hope Rathlin can afford a top Planning Silk to brief for what is likely to be at least a couple of days. Expensive if they lose. Local authority face a huge bill if they win and get a costs order.
