According to FT. today is ex divi date for final dividend payment of 3.5p. Seems unusual for a share to rise on ex divi date. D.

Been observing this one for a month now. the share price has been all but static in that time. Can't make a decision if that's good or bad so haven't come on board yet. Fundamentals look fair and buzz around company seems to tell it's better at what it does than others in its sector. Hm. more research required me thinks !!!!!!!!! D.

I don't understand myself why we are still at these near post Brexit prices. The company announced sales drops and increased cancellations not long after the Brexit vote which would obviously have a negative effect on the share price but it seems to me that the bad news was nullified come the final trading results you mention. The market reacts very quickly and severely to the slightest hint of bad news and very very slowly to good news ! Whatever I see value here and with an average of low 150's I'm happy to hold. D.

Ask the question of what's holding it back and you'll get 20 different reasonable answers. It's a shame Steello's gone he was a nice guy. I've been burning the midnight oil over the books " well tablet " for a week. I came up with one I think is Brexit risk minimal and seriously undervalued. Mcs. Some sold at a profit some at a loss finished the year around a grand down. Oh well !!!!! Brexit, Brexit, Brexit the mantra next year oh and less mistakes from yours truly. Trade buys set at 215p here 159p at phtm and 189p at esur all set up would be nice to get a couple of them. Good morning Soleman I'm still here, afraid I've not been as organised as yourself. Took me till yesterday to finalise my dfs holding never got close to weeks lows ended up having to pay 222p costs included. On a brighter note got initial buy in phtm sub 160p. Trimmed portfolio right back going into new year more cash than equities. Sepu a bummer to us all then, signs were there very few of us noticed them. Esur biggest paper and real loss to me this year. All but 4 figure loss there, hopefully better year for them next year. No more trading for me this year going to find different companies for next year. Pinning a lot of my hopes on phtm, trading update 8th January, will top up sub 160p if I get the chance can't see it happening mind you. D.

Hope dfs waits a few days for me, I get a bit bored when things are quite so stuck the waiting cash in hsba over Monday and Tuesday. I've done this twice before and done okay. Avge 654p ish. It seems certain that fed will raise interest rate today which I'm hoping will give hsba a mini peak to yearly high, whatever I'll be over the sell button tomorrow. I can't help myself sometimes. D.

Thank you Soleman. I'm not being lazy in asking your opinion I've researched them across every platform I can find, it does no harm to ask. Unlike others on some boards I do know what dyor means. They've expanded into the laundrette business and apparently it's doing okay, still looking in to the figures for that part of the business. Read somewhere late last night that there ready to introduce new technology where your passport can be automatically applied for by using one of there booths. Seems a bit fanciful to me but if true and exclusive to phtm it could be a game changer. Will do a bit more exploring to see what I can find. D.

Looks like my initial pessimism was unwarranted, all being well I'll be fully loaded again by Friday. If I lose a few pence here or there I'm not bothered I'm gonna' stay patient and alert. Is phtm on your watch list by any chance. D.

Hi Soleman I haven't given up here I am just waiting to see what effect the top man leaving is going to have in the short term, I check all rns's before market opens, I thought yesterday's news may have caused short term dip and I sold hoping to take advantage but alas " no dip " Will buy back hopefully lower than I sold. Two ii's selling and chairman bailing it is worth close monitoring under valued or not. D

I expected more of a reaction to the news of the chairman leaving. He's been in place since Advent's takeover in 2010 and came out of the ipo with 4.8 million shares. Joe Soap he's not. Perhaps mm's haven't the room to initiate a major retrace on what appeared to be bad news, "I wish." We need to tread carefully here me thinks sir just in case he and his bosses decide to get out of dfs altogether. Reduced my holding by half yesterday just in case. Watching carefully to see which way we go. Nothing new for me Soleman I've a few on my serious watchlist but everything is just to expensive at the moment. D.

There has been a reasonable rise on daily volume here over the last 6 weeks I'm hoping that interest does not suddenly evaporate. I agree the recovery could be slow, however. This has been seriously on my radar since final results and I have noted substantial peaks and troughs since, not all were related to the initial ii dump. I've also been looking at scs who like dfs seem to be undervalued. If you fire up the yearly chart and compare both companies there is an uncanny shadowing of us and them. It makes no sense but I'm beginning to think that owning a share with a decent yield is pointless, seems to be it's only supplying ammo to mm's to disrupt the price of relatively stable companies. I know they need to do this to stimulate the market and it's up to us to deal with it. Maybe I need to either get a strategy or change the one I'm not sure I've got. D.

Hi Soleman I only got back into stocks late July this was one of my first picks. The last time I was trading was the heady days of gkp, xel, des, rkh, gpx and many more who then were multiple pound shares. I seem to remember gpx turn down a couple quid a share takeover from India !!! Your right patience required for this game. You obviously have to do a bit of homework before you open the wallet but no matter how much you research there are pitfalls everywhere. A wee bit disappointed at the finish on Friday, should have expected it I suppose. I think you said two to three weeks usually to recover from divi retrace, I can wait. I am prepared to buy again if the price falls further but it's not really something I really want to do but I've nothing on my watchlist that looks better value than dfs. Been monitoring the price closely this morning just in case the bad boys tried it on. So far so good. Will pop in for a quick look before off to pub at three ish. Retirement has it's benefits. Don't know what's happened to Steello he used to post quite regularly but of late not so often. I can see me being in this one for a while, averageing 219p ish with £500 to come in divi. So not really on a great return for my 15k. Forgot how addictive this game is started out in July with a plan of 10k maximum over 4 shares, well that's long gone now. D.
