Yes Tony you're correct he did buy a substantial amount of shares at the full market price over a couple of days in December. When I said he doesn't trade much I meant he doesn't buy and sell, I don't think he's sold a single share since 2005. It's refreshing when the BOD put their hands in their pockets and purchase shares just like the rest of us. D. Ps. I still want that bloody trade update !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Mulder Your in luck none of your watched shares are on my watch list. Sorry I don't do tips. I'd need to apologise in advance if I did. The company will issue news only when it's ready to regardless of our concerns on the lack of it. One thing going for Pi's on here as opposed to other companies is that the men at the to have very large holdings so what's good for us is measurably much better for them. When they do update us I'm hoping there's clarification on the postponed Japanese government ID card scheme' D.

Welcome Compass If you've been monitoring Dfs you'll be aware of the recent shenanigans by the former owner Advent. There gone now with the Chairman who was their top man before ipo going shortly. I couldn't disagree with your reason for buying, this company had lost almost 40% of it's value over the last year for no understandable reason whatsoever !!!! Anyway lets hope it's onward & upwards now. Be interesting to see who gets the top job in the spring. D.

Yes surprised they've allowed PHTM's recovery to gain so much momentum this close to year end results. I'm sure results will be padded out to the Nth' degree to stick it to Sunday Rags. I'm glad Advent called it a day here surprised there latest and last dump didn't have a similar effect to the pre Christmas Sell off, we'll soon see I suppose !!!!! It's a vexing issue that will never be fixed. Please don't join the 'bee in the bunnet' brigade about this buy or sell dilemma. It's just the way it is. Just enjoy your share dealing and don't develop a picking strategy that puts reported buy and sell totals front and centre they are proved to be lnaccurate. Good hunting sir. D.

A lot of Pi's have a ' bee in there bunnet ' about this. As we strongly suspect buy and sell figures are routinely manipulated what I do when I'm updating my watch list spreadsheet is subtract 15% from the sells total and add 15% to the buys total. I don't know if that gives much more of an accurate figure than the totals reported elsewhere but I don't see it can be worse. I place more emphasis on the completed trades total rather than buy or sell totals but I feel I need some idea if a company is over bought or over sold before I buy or sell. We all do it differently I enjoy the subjectivity in share dealing. Feel like a prince when I get it right and a dunce when I get it wrong. Good Hunting JG. D.

Hi JG This question has been asked many times across many boards. The Stock market website doesn't officially note whether a trade was a buy or a sell just that a trade took place. Websites like this and many others attribute anything over the mid price as a buy and anything under the mid price as a sell. However that does not always give an accurate report of what a trade actually was. There's no doubt MM's know the rules about trades and reporting them and use this to muddy the waters for us. MM's have no obligation to report trades over the market size right a way. I stand corrected if I've got it wrong but I read somewhere they can take as long as three days to report large trades. Sorry know this is not much help but it would appearto be a complicated process. D.
