hi cadellin, I agree but miniscule movement considering how quickly it fell and how much. I believe SPA was already showing about breakeven this year and likely small profit before tax next. This makes me much more confident re future and reinforces my view that Claire Milverton is one smart cookie. I don't know when the punters will catch on (possible in a month or so when results appear) but I hope the rights ( possibly a share consolidation first) will be at nearer the 5p or equivalent. She may of course just place new shares with the major investors but that would be a shame for the few small investors. Looking good fodder for Penny Share Guide etc!

There is no doubt that the next RNS will be either new tender terms from govt or offtake deal, either way sending SP significantly higher. So we are either IN or NEAR TO a level at which serious fans will be contemplating topping up again. Unlikely to go much lower for this reason.

Excellent news on a grim day for the market as a whole. Followed my heart (???) and topped up so that average BP now 3.7p and own 100,000. I really believe this flutter will reward even though there is likely to be a rights rather soon. 'The sky's the limit!!!'

No RNS saying huge stakes changing hands. If anything the cheaper the SP the likelier a bid from across the pond! And every day brings results day nearer. I still think that will show co is trading at breakeven or better - and then a Placing for working capital.

Thanks Mommur et al, My feelings when I read about the BP deal was What's in it for BP? and of course there are many answers to that, as we now know. SQZ has the assets but they are not all simple to exploit to the full right now. In time it should be very positive but in time hydrocarbons will be as passe as coal is now, so there is a window and it is slowly but certainly closing. My feeling right now is the SP is unlikely to remain as it is but it takes a brave man to jump in now ahead of the figures (and accompanying hype). Of course, this means a 50-50 risk of missing out, An SP with a '5' in front would be pretty tempting, because it would enhance the potential. My recent efforts for the 'Flutter Fund' have not, with the benefit of hindsight, been at attractive entry prices! So I shall sit on sidelines for now - and probably kick myself next week! GLA

Thanks kezzman & mogwhy. But it has confirmed my feeling that there is no point in trying to average down any further because it is 99.99% certain there will be at least another cash eaising and if they buy another mine, probably 2 or more. So we sit back and try to enjoy the roller-coaster.

The best result IMO would be an internal promotion for someone who has worked closely with MWJ for some considerable time and knows how he operates. Some outside famous name could be a bad idea but there may not be a strong internal candidate. Let's hope because this market needs confidence in the appointment.

Your feelings are sound and there are a lot of us sitting on losses who hope you are right. If you are buying in ISA the divis are also a consideration (not outside an ISA - tax free allowance down from April). It's a fair bet and I wish you luck.

I came across an old IC the other day when these were suspended for the BP deal and I had noted them on the front cover. Price has come back since then with the oil price and just moving on up a tad. Now there are figures soon and might be worth a flutter. The only question is:'Before or after the results?' My feeling is that the actual figures will be uninspiring but there will be lots of future excitement in the spiel. Lately reports like that seem not to impress investors so the price may be cheaper, but they may be run up in the next days anyway so its not an easy call, Once the BP wells are in the price, this should be OK but there is still the oil price to factor in. I will watch for now.
