Ironic: I have chosen PM because of its potential which - sooner or later - will translate to enormous profits. Point in case is: nobody knows when that will happen. Consequently, I'm glad to be a LTH.

Ironic: Those 1-10 100% rises are nice and dandy if and once they happen.
If you look at Apple Comp., Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Cisco, Amazon etc. etc. you will see that those companies didn't achieve SP rises within a short period of time; respective rises were linked to increased revenues on a quarterly/annual basis.

Admittedly, an oil strike would propel PM's SP significantly and within a short period of time. However, it will take many years in order to claim there are 23-90 billion barrels of recoverable oil; that's the information which will take this SP to the highs you mention.

Nevertheless nobody I know doubts the fact that there are huge amounts of oil to be found in Mongolia - that is what I call potential. Let's hope that potential turns out to be an asset - to be drawn upon for many years.

OK hold on a second: I replied to Bargainbucket's very first post - and now I get a response from Popeye62 (with 2,794 posts) telling me he has/had no idea about buying shares. I'm a bit confused!

Bargainbucket: I'm not sure that following "a rich bloke's" advice is the way you should approach investing in stocks - sounds a little bit like a blind flying. On that basis you deserve to be nervous.

The good news is - as far as I'm concerned - you've invested in a company with enormous potential. Potential which could probably unfold during this year. If it does the SP will put a big smile on your face.

When will the SP start to rise? It already has. But when the real rise happens depends mostly on the company's successful search for oil. Once they strike oil during one or more of their 6 attempts (4 scheduled for this year, 2 for early next year) you will wish you had invested far more.

The risk/reward ratio here is magnificant. If everything goes well you can thank your "rich bloke".

the buyers by far and still the SP rose by 15%+.

Today the buyers are leading by volume and justifiying the 8%+ rise (until now). A strange but pleasing development.

Go check my post @15.24 last Friday. Please try to understand it and you may come to the conclusion that my most recent post makes no claim or statement whatsoever. Consequently, I don't understand what you are trying to get at.

Posters on this board appear to have different opinions. Leak supporters seem to be slightly in the majority.
This is all part of the guessing game related to the SP rise of last Friday.

No question about it: I would prefer the leak option. However, as I mentioned last Friday, we simply don't know why the SP gained >15%. Next week's trading should provide more information.

I truly share the overall excitement and the expectations which have suddenly come back to life. But you guys know me. After being invested since 2010 you tend not to get to cocky just for one single trading day - which is not over BTW.
I recommend to keep your feet on the ground b/c as far as I'm concerned we LTHs still have a long way to go.

Let's not forget: The sp deterioration was based on missing news, speculation on whether or not all scheduled drills for 2018 would be performed, shorting and other stuff going on behind the scenes.
Today our knowledge is no different than yesterday. A nice, welcome (and overdue) sp uplift - based on - well, we just don't know. Certainly not on positive news.

So let's remain cautious about this and hope the rise of the SP will continue during the next weeks and will be confirmed and propelled by a respective RNS.

Who says 7p is a support level? Support levels seem to be the most popular guessing games for quite some time now.

As i mentioned recently I believe that LTHs and other investors are currently being tested; it's extremely difficult to take a "wait and see" attitude regarding the deterioration rate of the SP without reacting in accordance with your investment strategy. However, we wouldn't be LTHs if we weren't prepared and willing to overcome these temporary downturns since we know what this company and its SP has in store for us - sooner or later.

Nothing has changed - there's nothing out there which could change my mind. PM is the real and the big deal.

My conclusion is therefore, the selling we are currently seeing has hardly anything to do with shorting.
My take on this is:
The sp decay is making investors - who bought in low - nervous. Could be that stop losses are kicking in.

One thing is certain: If the MMs or other forces are orchestrating the sp downturn they're really doing a good job at scaring the hell out of the insecure investors.

Mikerockfield - that is exactly the way I understand the "shorting" concept.

Still doesn't make sense (to me); if those shorters purchased at 10p every sale below is a loss. How do they want to turn those losses into a profit if not waiting until the sp rises again (as far as they still hold shares or buy in below 10p)?
