As a new investor in PM I would expect a more positive attitude - assuming that "painting something in red" would display something else.
Short term PM investors are hoping to make a quick buck here. If you're one of those then good luck. Many of the other investors on this board are here for the long haul (some of which have been invested for more than 8 years). If you've got the guts to stick to your investment decision for 6 months (or a lot less), your investment will put a big smile on your face.

If the MMs would add the buy vs. the sell volume correctly then buy volume would clearly prevail. Another one of those intransparencies we obviously need to accept; I guess the MMs must be happy with the sp decline of 2.75% today.

is clearly misleading as it doesn't include the +1Mio. purchase of this morning; I wonder why the MMs do that???

Countryquick: According to your calculation, i.e. "not one drop of oil and the rest speculation" this share should actually be worthless. Looks like you've just revealed your status as a non-valeur in investment issues.

Sorry, but your contribution is worth less than nothing. If you want to continue de-ramping do it elsewhere - you know, on boards where readers actually believe the stuff you write.

Glory555: Absolutely right! No question about it - that's exactly the reason we (or at least most of us) are here!

Don't get me wrong: I'm just trying to get a better understanding for the long standing selling which is continuously and efficiently blocking a sp rise.

Some of this can possibly be attributed to MMs dealings. But not all. There's to much selling potential at low levels which is beyond my comprehension.

In summary: Based on what the exciting drilling program for this and next year has in store for us investors, I was not expecting the sp to develop as we are currently experiencing. In other words: It actually looks like only an oil strike will convince the market that PM is heading towards glory.
If that's the way it is: Then let's wait for that strike - and it will come.

I just find it hard to believe that she would "need" to sell - that sounds a lot like she would need to pay her bills!

After co-founding PM and being with the company FOR MORE THAN A DECADE wouldn't you find selling your shares at prices substantially below the price when the company went public (ca. 13p) to be an extremely unsatisfying outcome (to say the least)?

Dozzawba: You're right that could actually be. My personal opinion is, however, that it is not her selling. Unfortunately we don't know and can only speculate on that possibility. As I said before, it wouldn't make sense for her to sell her holding at these sp levels unless she were forced to do so - for whichever reasons. And that would make her selling unvoluntary - right?

Of course we all would like to know more about what is influencing the sp. Share movements on AIM are ever more difficult to read than other exchanges.

and at the risk of getting on readers' nerves: I can't figure out what the rationale is voluntarily losing 10-15% on your investment. It's got to be a cash flow issue; I initially thought the selling was due to fear of losing even more. That one doesn't make sense either.

If the sells are voluntary and not a cash flow issue then AIM has reached a degree of predictability which is close to 0%. I.e. (typical) market behavior is no longer worth considering when investing in an AIM company. Good to know.

dan1nat1: I don't make forecasts on the sp bc I simply don't have a cristal ball (if I had I wouldn't be hanging around here).

But I can tell you one thing which I simply believe in (i.e. no fact, no proof):

Petro Matad won't not go down the drain. The forces behind PM are too strong to let that happen.

1. Worst case scenario: The drilling program (6 drills) results in 6 dusters. The sp will substantially lose value but the company will find the means to continue their search for oil and would - at least - provide the market with a perspective. This scenario would - in away - put PM into a situation similar to how it looked like after 2011.

2. 2nd worst case scenario: Only one out of the 6 drills is successful: Depending on the respective oil find the sp will gain substantial value compared to what it is today (>30p).

3. All other scenarios are the ones that have given us LTHs the motivation to be invested for so long. Depending on your patience, i.e. not to sell as soon as you've reached your 500% profit, I could very well imagine that PM's share price - once oil is found - will soar to double digit £££.

However, that will hardly happen over night. Again patience would be required and may take another 5+ years once oil is found.

To answer your question: £5 is within reach - but not as soon as we LTHs would like.

Whoa Penderos! There's a lot of wishful posting going on here - so take it easy on MongolianOil. I'm sure he meant no harm with his statement.
We investors know how to put those type of posts into perspective. Nothing anybody says on this board is true or a fact until officially confirmed - full stop. Any other take on those is unwise - to say the least.

Clearly we shouldn't forget that Dr. Oyungerel Janchiv is indirectly still invested in PM as she holds (20%?) of Petrovis - the parent company of PM. However, I don't believe those shares are listed.

I personally don't understand why she should sell off her holding at this point. As there is hardly any regulatory requirement there could only be a contractual agreement which could actually force her to do so. But why she should dump her holding now although she will remain to be a member of the BoD until the next AGM simply does not compute.
According to the official records she sold only once during her whole BoD life span: 2.5mio @25p on March 24 2017 (value: around £600K). Apart from that she made 2 family internal share transfers (2 X 1.8m) on July 24, 2017.

Fully agree SBB1 and as I've been saying the last couple of weeks: Selling (voluntarily) at these levels makes no sense and actually downright stupid.
It does however, serve the buying investors' purposes; I just have the feeling only few have heard the wake up call. Good for them!
