Regarding the tight grip on news, i.e. leaks, I agree completely. News leaks - not only concerning drill campaigns during 2010/11 - used to be kind of "standard"; that appears to have changed now under PM's new management. I assume (and hope) it's for the better.

buc: If that is not the case then the MMs would need to keep a looooooooooooot of shares on stock: more than 1 mio. for today's trading alone. Doesn't make sense for MMs to keep shares - that would be investing - at least short term. I thought their business was to make money on the margin/spread?

That is an excellent point: Several years ago at a time when nobody really knew whether PM would go down the drain or not I began investing heavily (at historical lows). At the time I would usually say: I consider this to be a lottery ticket (while thinking to myself: with a whole lot better chance to win).

If you think about all those millions if not billions being invested in lotteries (Euro Millions and what not) and consider the practically inexistent chances of actually winning money - let alone hitting the jackpot - you've got to say that investing in PM stocks at these (or higher) levels would provide for a much better chance of striking it rich. Clearly, the price of a lottery ticket alone wouldn't really get you dreaming here - but a SP at a bit more than 8p per share should get your brain to start calculating...

more investors want to get out of PM than in - which doesn't make a lot of sense in the light of sells vs. buys ratio but take a look at the sp: It's hardly the buyers putting pressure on the SP; and btw where are the shares coming from to cover the buys?

I agree V/D: Just wouldn't make sense to wait until then. I.e. next Wednesday Sept. 19 would be the latest for a RNS from my POV.

I admit being unable to find a relationship between meeting a drilling deadline and performing a successful drill campaigne.
Quite to the contrary- I believe to see more rationale in not sticking to deadlines if the situation requires.
