Well then, if you guys (blissful, Neeko, warrior) are right, we've got another full week (at least if not more) to wait for a respective RNS. I admit that - as a LTH - I shouldn't be worried about the spud (as long as it actually happens near term). However, I also admit that I hate to see the SP drift downwards as there is absolutely no justification.
I guess this has all to do with impatience - I've just been around too long!

blissful: I'm sure you're right - at least to a certain extent. However, you may remember - as it was just about a week ago - that I said Mike B. will only announce a spud date once it is (more or less) cast in iron. I haven't changed my mind. However, we are dealing with professional oil explorers here who have done this for decades and should - by now - know what they and their contractors are capable of delivering. If at this point (a week before the pre-announced approx. spud date) this should still be a guessing game then I believe it's time to make clear to PM that we - investors - are (impatiently) waiting for that ultimate and crucial information (as if they didn't know!).
I don't see any harm in putting some additional pressure on PM as its nature is very honest.

Just in case you may be pondering what we investors are waiting for: It's the spud date!!! Everybody's waiting for your confirmation of the spud date! We all hope it won't be later than mid July (give or take a few days). But we need a final date. Pls do us the favor and confirm the date asap! Many thanks!

Micheal - I would be more careful with those kind of predictions. You may not have been around this share very long - I have. And although the no. of share in issue has risen by about 3-fold since I joined the licensed area is once again (since 2016) a 100% PM ownership. I guess we all know what that means in terms of SP once PM hits oil and when the farm in partners come flocking in.

Blissful: You may actually be right. In that case, however, I hope spudding happens earlier than Monday July 15. On the other hand - who cares? Give or take another week - no big deal.

So even Malcy refers to a spud date "around mid July" for Heron. If that is so it's fair to assume - or at least hope - that PM will issue a RNS next Monday, July 8 confirming the spud date. Clearly - and as we know Mike Buck - the RNS will only be issued once the spud date is (more or less) cast in iron, which could mean a bit later next week. Next Monday in a week is July 15!

As I said: The market has the say here and once PM (finally) hits the black gold anything goes; i.e. 3-5 multiples may be far fetched on the low end but depending on further developments 50p+ would not be out of reach.

My thoughts are: It's all speculation. I'm speculating on 3-5 multiples on the first hit (Heron). The market has the say here - so I may be way off. A second hit will be honored by the market much more as it will no longer be considered a "lucky punch". Once that happens hope and phantasy will kick in big time and the sky will be the limit for this SP.

Sundaysun: That's the point isn't it? PM needs to confirm these positive events - otherwise they get lost in interpretation. I believe this information is for real - but I also believe PM prefers to pack more positive info into a RNS than just "the rig is on the move". My hope and belief is that the next RNS will contain a spud date for Heron. As long as the rig has not yet arrived at the drill location and construction/assembly has not yet been initiated PM is not yet in the position to announce a spud date (Mike Buck hates to make approximate pre-announcements). Although this may take another few days, it appears to be fairly certain that spud will happen around mid July.

Neeko: From my (modest) 10-year experience on AIM there is always a trigger for a rise - especially if the rise is 10% or more. It's often hard to tell what it is - but there is one. Business as usual typically causes a downward drift.

4 weeks until spud news? I hope not!

Today's current trading volume is around 3.81m. Clearly not overwhelming but still its the highest volume since June 7. Now what does that say: Figure it out yourself - you've been on aim long enough. SP is important - but trade volume is even more important! Today has been a step forward in that respect and I don't expect the volume to decrease going forward. I expect the buy volume to be higher than the sell volume even if we take all the "sell willing" investors into consideration (which will put the breaks on the rise). Once the RNS confirming the spud date reaches us the race will be on.

The extremely low trading volume of today confirms Sundaysun's assumption that only a spud date RNS will trigger (much) higher buying volumes.
