Wow; it’s pretty blatant here, even for Wizz Air

They were previously talking about having around 46 aircraft out of service so they’re gradually finessing their processes to have as few out of service as possible, which they also said on the call that they were trying to do.

I know people have different views about the CE but I’ve listened to him on quite a few calls now & I’m impressed with his responses to questions and the fact that he does seem to deliver on his stated intentions.

I’m interpreting it as business as usual … in the recent public call the CE said they were finalising a further compensation package.

The RNS mentions a continued grounding through F26 so I assume it will still be concluded by F27, sometime in 2026. But I don’t think this is news anymore and remains a known irritant which probably doesn’t require much further high level input & will simply play through. Of more interest is that they’re still affirming aircraft deliveries and concentrating on growth. On the results call the CE indicated the challenges in getting aircraft deliveries through so I’m glad to hear we’re getting (more than?) our fair share of new planes

If (& it is an if) the 1407 was the low off 1257 then that looks pretty respectable to me.

If 1463 really was the recent bottom (I’m not brave enough to call it yet, though I certainly would not bet against it), then a fairly steep sided champagne flute to match the vertiginous fall at the end of July doesn’t seem altogether unlikely…

Especially with the recent 2 Tr1s; I’m guessing their slide rules have been rather more assiduously applied than the this morning’s broker upgrade…

And will the cup & handle turn out to be that well known chart pattern ‘the champagne flute’?

Could well be Mazman. The much higher lows at 1463 & 1473 & this evening ?? are making me feel cheery

Last year we were at 1550 at the end of October and 2200 at the end of December … things can move quickly with Wizz

I’m not too worried about 1550…

I like the fact that the lows are getting higher - dramatically so.

I think about the power of mean reversion …

And the fundamentals here are good - we are in the dark before the dawn - although really I think most would say the sun is starting to rise.

And I think the CE is focussed & intelligent & a strategist

And they have a good sustainability USP which they are holding fast to - wisely imho

I wonder how long it will take to get to 1913?

On 31 July we closed at 1913; on 1st August we closed at 1480.

The leg up may be as irrational as the fall, especially if the shorts are burning

For fun .. and discussion .. I’ll stick my neck out & suggest we might well be around 1500p in the next 3 or 4 weeks and 1800/1900 by next June latest, possibly quite a bit earlier.

But what do they say? Markets can stay irrational a lot longer than we can stay solvent 🤣
