We remember well before we joined the eu many yrs ago and that we traded and survived with no problems. GET OUT STAY OUT No deal has people trying to scare us all. We did vote to join . but to join a trade free area not for GERMANY to get UK by the back door as they had lost two WWs. When we voted to leave it was going to be a disaster, but it was not. We leave and as usual the UK will survive nicely. Europe will lose out if they get no deal

Well it is a bit sad to see the market down over 50 points after starting up a little bit. Was hoping it would hold, even gain on yesterday but it looks like it may test the 7000 mark. If it can hold above 7000 then it may just creep above it for the new year. However both PAF and AAU are unchanged at the moment. CRST looks like a buying opportunity again, these being our only directly held stocks . The Investment Trusts we hold have held up well, but they cover a wide range of stocks across the world and sectors we could not have invested in individually. May be a few months before we see it breaking in to new territory at 8000 but it will do so hang on in and add while it is low. NEVER but at the TOP but add and buy when it is LOW, giving you a chance to make money on the recovery as well as more profit when new territory is meet, then when if falters you sell at the top and wait for a drop to buy again.

We were caught years ago by making a deal for which we gave the incorrect quantity something like 2000 instead of 20000 and paid a massive amount of commission which meant we would never get our investment back on that deal and raised the average for the holding by a lot. We now find we are getting charged a monthly fee for just holding the stock. Which we disapprove off. We never have bought automatically, don't even know how to do it, but buy by phone with someone we know at ADM for £12 a deal up to a certain amount. As for search engines we often wonder who the little people are who sort this information so quickly when you ask Google for something!!!! Well at our age does it matter. We have wondered about looking at this face book they all go on about. Apparently everyone gets local news on every one else. We had a player killed last Saturday evening after playing for us that afternoon and we were the only ones who did not know. We heard about someone getting killed in a car crash on the way home to the west but until last night when I went to help with our lottery did not know it was a player of ours. Suppose we must try it out.
The other thing that amazes us is the amount of deals that are done daily , where on earth do all these people come from who buy and sell all the time. No one we know deals on the stock market like we do. Institutions will only be doing large quantities but the majority of the seals you see are for £500 to £5000 pounds. It just leaves us bewildered at the quantities of deals.
We have thought of trying IG and London South East out for buying stock. ADM are the only ones we find who do Options in small quantities and we are thinking of stopping them. This year looks like we will only make coppers on the options we have traded where as we used to make about £5000 PA. Think age is overtaking us. One of the reasons we have increased our Investment Trust holdings and give us a wider range of markets.

Over 3 times stock bought than sold so far today. That is looking good, with confidence improving.

This is holding up very well with all the sales here, must be a lot of buyers in South Africa that is keeping the price up.

Foxtons has also got a very low PE and is worse than TW think we will hold on these two and add to CRST where the share price is only a 10% premium approx. to the NAV

Used to be in this and am wondering whether to return, but NAV not very good. May instead go for Foxtons, another dropeee which could go up once the housing market picks up. Buy when low sell when high and you will not go far wrong.

He is correct to a point, but feel it is only certain stocks that are a bit "iffi" Probably only certain traders as well.
This is one of the reasons we have most of our investments in Investment Trusts as they may have their ear to the ground, plus you have a wide spread of stocks with them, so one collapse does not do to much harm.. You see well established stocks like Foxtons and Taylor Wimpy etc. crash and trying to avoid these by buying individually is a nightmare. We have in the past had a good run then one of the stocks collapse leaving your profit on the others gone.

Am i not correct? but do production figures fall during winter? which if they do, will they make a few holders nervous and start a little selling run. If they do and price drops back may be good time to add to our holding.

Holding at the mo, like to see it hit 1.6p and then move between 1.5p and 1.7p to feel it is happy at 1.5p until more good news. It depends how many will hold their nerve and not take profits or the lay our back

Did you want a list of our portfolio? If so will try on Sunday after church or Monday as we have to run the teas and coffee stall at the local football match tomorrow. Just got back from Inverness from one of our regular hospital visits, how we hate those traffic lights, Islands and queuing at junctions. We only have 3 sets of vehicle traffic lights in the whole county, no islands and hardly ever queue, except when leaving Tesco's, where there are often 3 vehicles in front of us waiting to get out of the car park, or the county Fair each year with all those tractors, but happy to see most of our stocks are either up or unchanged. CRST a bit disappointing, but it gives us a chance to add to our holding.
