They come and go, everyone either panics or celebrates but there will be another on very soon. In the meantime the world keeps going round. As usual buy when low sell when it hits its high. No news at AAU so it edges up and down depending on the volume of a trade. Any one know when the next news item of interest may come from AAU. At last it is above the buy price we paid.

We have a small holding in these which show a massive loss. Can any one tell me what is happening at the company . Thinking of selling and putting money in to Chinese or frontier I.T. stocks that will recover. Stopped buying these tiddlers and just invest in I.Ts that specialise in them and unquoted stocks . They do know what they are doing unlike us.

PAF & AAU WHERE WE ARE JUST HAVE VERY SMALL LOSSES BUT WITH A TERRIFIC POTENTIAL ESPECIAL PAF. THESE ARE OUR ONLY OTHER COMPANIES WE ARE IN PLUS BNN WHICH WENT PRIVATE. THOUGHT AFTER THE REBOUND TODAY CRST WOULD HAVE BEEN UP AGAIN

We are losing a big % on this stock but will stay with it. Approaching 80 years of age we have seen many a big drop in the market. IT DOES COME BACK; When the blood is running in the streets that is the time to buy and make a tidy profit, how red the blood is at the moment we will have to wait and see, USA stocks are to high so we sold them a few weeks ago, They went up a big % while we did not, so we should not drop the same %. We moved out of USA ITs a few weeks ago to invest in those that are low. Also moving out of Japan ay a profit, using the money elsewhere. China, Frontier, Europe are very low so increased in them. We intend to add to this holding but possible not yet, as 9p may show its head. We feel ESO is a better bet at the moment as something is going on there. So this weeks investment looks like going to increase our ESO holding. We have been topping up ITs that are need to rise 40% or more to get back to their high. But we do have limited means and can only do a bit each month unfortunately.

We sold out a few weeks ago at a small profit . We are in ESO who have a substantial holding in LUCE. It is one of their few current holdings and has been stagnant for months. Today ESO rose 15p, around 11 - 12%. So something is happening some where. There was also a small price increase at LUCE today. ESO is 160p to buy at close with a NAV of 213p So rather than buy more LUCE we will increase our ESO holdings subject to its price on Thursday. Something is happening at ESO and it may be LUCE. Either way buying ESO covers all eventualities plus their NAV is 30% above the share price. ESO = EP SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES INVESTMENT TRUST

This holding is just 2% of our total PAF and crst are 4 and 5% buy when cheap sell when high. The market markers price according to their holding as well as what people trade. They will pay more if they think it will go up and vice-versa

Pleasing to see the price hold after the 20p gain today and with the market easing back. Hopefully we will hit the 400p mark in the next two weeks or before if investors realise the potential and the dividend, A nice steady increase would suit suit us to prevent a bumpy ride, however if there was a big increase very quickly then the short term profit makers would sell and we would see a bit of a slide.

Gold up but it has dropped from 9.17p to 8.83 p today MM seem to take every opportunity to lower the price rather than keep it stable or go up. This morning two buyers paid 9.17 p with a sale between them of 9.17 (why was this not lower?) then the next followed by a purchase of 9.07p why did it not stay at 9.17p followedagain by a sale at 8.6 (large) and others at 8.80+ after the sale @ 8.8p there were two purchases at a lower price of 8.79. The price spread for the next trades were 8.63 to 8.83 with minor variations. It is not just PAF but following the trade path of most shares they do not seem consistent. Understandable when a very large trade takes place which will see it vary. but so many are normal size with sellers getting more than buyers pay at times. Is this the technology averaging out over a few days/day. It all leaves usme flummoxed. Must be our age!!!!

We added a few a few days ago as per our last post. It really looks a good bet at these prices, but time will tell.

And yet the price goes down PAF is going up with the price of gold so what is stopping the buyers here? AAU simple has been over looked. Once they realise the price could double then rise.

Auson as you intimate Woodford is no fool. We have investments in his trust. After the Brixit vote the builders dropped a lot and we went in then and made money with 3 or 4. This time although the others are down, they did not drop like this one. Surprised Shorters are increasing especially after todays rise against the market. Just how far can it fall?

Bought some more a few days ago to help level out, Up today with the FTSE down over 1% are the shorters starting to get out. They are making a good profit and the time may have come to exit. Those not exiting will see the price rising and then rush to get out causing a flow of buys which can send this flying. After all even with the profit down this year it will increase over the next few years, plus the dividend which should hold. Interesting times but you should not be very much out of pocket buying now even if there is another small drop. You may look back and wonder why on earth did I take take advantage of the low price. How often have you looked at the price in the paper and seen companies put on 50% from their lows and think why did I not buy them. This may prove to be one of them which actual doubles in price. Must be a bigger chance of a bigger rise than fall at this point.

We should be going up with gold rising but it appears the buyers have gone until it drops back to 8 -8.5p

130 - 135 would be nearer the mark

The problem here and why we have restricted our investments is the spread currently shown as 12% although in reality on the sales / purchases shown it is under 4%. Perhaps if they indicated the spread a little less it may help.

gold up but i can for-see further falls for AAU. Should have sold at 1.33 and come back when it is 1.1 again, never learn. how many times we have missed the boat over the years being bullish.
