Conveniently, the current front month price is almost exactly 50% higher to give a market valuation of about £375m (before the outcome of their new subsurface model of the field).

The BBC's Faisal Islam commenting on the Bank's reduction of base rate and accompanying statement of noon:

"Inflation is expected to “rise quite sharply” into the Autumn, getting close to 4%, driven by rises in gas prices arising from the need to fill drained storage facilities after a cold winter".

Record high on FTSE 100 following the Bank's reduction of base rate to 4.5%.

At some stage, better sentiment on the blue chips is likely to raise smaller caps as well.

Debate amongst some EU member states concerning replenishing stockpiles given that Summer 25 prices are higher than Winter prices and will impose losses on buying executed during the Summer months.

1 month after the 26/03/24 RNS detailing the "exceptional gold grades" of the Level 4 samples, ALBA announced, on 24/04/24, the acquisition of its first option.

That particular option (lithium, Western Australia) came to nothing but, on 06/11/24, Alba announced its Finnsbo rare earth option in Sweden and that it was also in discussion re a gold mining option in East Africa.

Reminder of the samples taken from Level 4 (RNS of 26/03/24):

· These composites have now returned exceptional gold grades:

o From Composite 1: 3.1 grams of gold were recovered from 49.2 kg of sample (dry weight), equating to a back-calculated head grade of 89.15 g/t or 2.87 troy ounces per tonne (oz/t).

o From Composite sample 2: 3.2 grams of gold were recovered from 34.4 kg of sample (dry weight), equating to a back-calculated head grade of 111.63 g/t or 3.59 oz/t.

o From Composite sample 3: 4.0 grams of gold were recovered from 36.9 kg of sample (dry weight), equating to a back-calculated head grade of 133.73 g/t or 4.30 oz/t.

· The Company is greatly encouraged by the fact that these high grades are from ore that did not contain visible gold and is interpreted as being part of the background gold population.

Good news from Angus this morning as the new booster compressor has arrived and will shortly be installed and be ready for commissioning this quarter. Once installed, the compressor should enable Angus to achieve greater returns from the higher gas volumes and thus become more profitable.

In addition, "We will now work to exploit the various opportunities for public financing of parts of the work programme, ...".

Think the placees may have got their timing just about spot on.

At the present time, £20m of debt sits on top of £12.6m of market cap.

As I understand it, the debt will be repaid on a quarterly basis of £1.25m.

Let us hope that the market cap will anticipate (or, at least, promptly reflect) the repayment of the debt so that market cap and debt become more closely aligned.
