Indeed @jimb2. Most incumbent mainstream analysts are significantly under-forecasting battery demand, and hence lithium demand, some by as much as 10 times in the 2025-2030 period. The amount of reports I've read and found myself laughing at in the past few years is almost disturbing... Sounds about right @RyeSloan. In the interview PS is expecting (hoping!?) that at least some of the existing shareholders will partake. I'm guessing doing it this way is less hassle than having to contact ordinary PIs, and gives them the flexibility to sell a significant stake to a single party (or more) at the right price. They may even get the funds necessary to up the stage one capacity as suggested would be the case if the NextView deal goes through via a placing at a higher price or current price plus sufficient debt to make up the balance.

@antelope. If you've been following Tony for some time, you'll see that he's been pretty much spot on with every prediction he's ever made. Solar + battery + AI are the disrupter I've been following most closely. I've certainly got my eye on the others he follows though!

I just can't see there being a long term role for traditional rail. You will hail or book an AV (autonomous vehicle, which will be electric) using your phone or similar such personal device, and it takes you to your final destination. Depending on your preferences and how much you are willing to pay, this might be a shared AV costing less and taking the "slow lanes", or it might be a single occupancy AV costing more that takes the "fast lanes". Obviously those are the two extreme scenarios. There are other combinations, and some of those "fast lanes" will be (underground in the cities) hyperloops. Isn't this all obvious? Oh wait, where do flying AVs come in...? ;-)

Oh. I thought you were saying that there were other components of the EV that didn't like the cold or heat. I don't think the batteries themselves will have a problem in practice, and certainly not in cold extremes, as they just need to draw a small current to keep the temperatures above damaging values whatever they may be. Of course unless they are plugged in that means the range for the next journey will be reduced, but probably worth that over the alternative of damaging the batteries or reducing their lifespan.
