Well my shares are down £30k in value in one week! Not that I am bothered.... share prices up one week, down the next, up the next....

£15 million pounds of shares bought and £10 million pounds of shares sold... and its DOWN? Parallel universe today! A company that states clearly it will meet guidance... has 5% increase in sales and 14% increase in parcels.... all POSITIVE... and it reached lows of £1.90 (-17%). I really think some investors brains have been transplanted!

JB Thistle - why you engage with Charlie is beyond me... his contribution spans talking to a post-man - hardly a helicopter view of the business. The man hasn't even read the half yearly report. He trades a few hundred or thousand in the hope of raising enough to have a holiday. Sad!

Charlie, yes - let's base our knowledge on your talking to a postie whose journey has increased a few hours and he's getting a dodgy knee replacement. Great to know what's going on on the ground and extrapolating to 130,000 people firm. Your expertise is much appreciated, as is all your other non-sense on here. Good luck - keep talking to a few other posties... perhaps you'll find someone with a dodgy hip, or poor eyesight.

Buying more before the closing bell if it stays below £2... might even buy more anyways...! People are handing a 9% yielding share away for nothing!

Scamp - even I would acknowledge that both sides are dependent on each other. Strike = no pay for staff... how long could they strike with no pay.... also means fewer costs for RMG

mass redundancies - real people - yes, but voting for strike action is voting for redundancies. Time to clear the decks!

Eventually - CWU and the workers won't have a choice. The market is brutal! Get with the programme!

madaballoon - the improvements are largely down to automated parcel sortation - read the report! So capital intensive working practices! more to come when the Union finally realises jobs on the line!

Yes - 1000% the Union's fault... entirely resistant to change and unreasonable! 1000%. Nothing I have seen so far will make me change my view. Unions are job destroyers and anyone paying to be part of one, buy a lotto ticket instead.

campthedog - on your fundamental point about the unions - I agree... and the long-term nature of the share.... and on the need to become efficient and leaner - I agree.... on the share price action today, I fundamentally disagree that it should be down given the outstanding performance in the six months past, particularly the 2.2% productivity improvement.

keeps me awake at night... and the 1.8 x dividend covered and the massive increase in remittances from Asian arm.... all-in-all alongside the 31.5 pence dividend and its commitment to progressive dividend, I will lose an awful lot of sleep!!

underperformance - yes, £3 billion profit is a real concern.

madasaballoon - the Union is 100% the problem. Your overpaid - overgenerous allowances - and you underperform... hence productivity improvements slumping to near zero last year... the everything for nothing leftist militant. I actually hope management begin taking a stand and set in motion mass redundancies... hopefully sooner than later...

Charlie - happy to align myself with other shareholders! Keep trading RMG, you might get to Bangor this year (either in Wales, or if you are really lucky with timing, Northern Ireland).

masaballoon - I can be bothered to engage with you. As a general rule my belief is that there is no place for Unions anywhere. I am a capitalist true and true. Yes, it has its faults, but I would prefer to live in a free market economy than a basket economy. Your Union is fighting against necessary changes that will ultimately safeguard jobs for people - I hope Rico makes good on his promise to make mass redundancies and introduces zero hours contracts - staff have had it far too good for far too long - staff turnover rate a third of the average for the economy- too many cushy jobs with brilliant perks. Confrontation coming!

And Uncle Doug - just to correct you - you were stating your opinion as though it was somehow fact - which it is clearly - based on the facts - inaccurate, misleading and FALSE!

Uncle Doug - it was a blip! Of course you are going to stick to your untruthful and misleading statement. Good luck! They've made a profit in each and every year over the last six years. So, yes, very disappointing that they have managed to pay dividends of c. £1.30 per share over the last six years... probably more, just haven't added them all up.... terribly disappointing performance that c. 66% of the current share price has been returned to share holders.

NET DEBT:
People made a big thing out of the net debt increasing to £1.3 billion. £1.17 billion is directly attributable to leases. Net debt has actually reduced and cash at hand has increased. So, this is one of the least indebted businesses on the FTSE 250!
