RE: Given up on SAVP11 Apr 2019 13:01
Hi Kalan - Good to hear back from you and thanks for your as always, very interesting views!!
First re: SAVP:
Yes, like you I'm aware of Brokers' price targets between 60p (Mirabau - August 2018 before the improved SE deal terms!) and 73p (Shore Capital I think).
I also share your view of a 50p minimum price upon completion of the SE deal. Though perhaps I'm being naive [that has been known from time to time :-))] in not sharing your assessment of the risk that the deal won't go through. I've concluded it's "when, not if". I also note in the last RNS that hopefully a safe time frame has now been quoted for completion. i.e. by end of Q2.
Looking further out to the earnings estimated by Shore Capital for 2020 (assuming of course the deal has completed), then a price of between 70p and 93p is implied based on an EPS of 9.2p. I couldn't establish what oil price was used in their estimate for 2020, but it was published in January 2019 when Oil prices were depressed.
Second re: JLP, WRES and SAVP
Very interesting to get your take on their relative risks!!
Because of my confidence the SE deal will complete, I see SAVP as least risk and JLP always as high risk. Colin and Leon have never yet delivered in my view. Though I do agree Leon's doing remarkable things now and performance is certainly on the up!!! Hence my own renewed interest!
Out of courtesy to other readers I'll not continue our JLP exchange here, but I'll look-in on the LSE JLP BB as I see unsurprisingly you Post there too.
Thanks for the heads-up on WRES. I've always been mindful it has potential, but never studied. I haven't looked at it yet but plan to do so.
Third re: Other stocks with high potential IMHO.
Columbus Energy (CERP) - Anticipation building as Q1 Operations report is due in the next day or so. I expected it on Monday.
Reabold Resources (RBD) - Functions almost as an Investment Fund which is not a positive IMO. But has massive upside potential from current and imminent Drill prospects each with very substantial NPV's.
For transparency, these two stocks are among my top holdings.
