DLG was formed in 1985 and it will probably still be around in 2059…and I’m pretty sure the share price will be north of where we are now. Keep taking the dividends and top up on any overdone drops!
Yes, good to see 150p hold although yesterday I had a top up at 149 which didn’t execute…
Maybe it was just a case of old news being recycled as regards the historic trading blunders.
Just need to directors and traders to do their job at a reasonable level of competence and we’ll be good.
Share buy backs don’t physically put any monies in my pocket
Yes in theory they should stabilise a share price and therefore increase the yield but most investors who have holdings in companies like Shell do so with a view to building a passive income and/or supplementing the works pension.
If Shell don’t want to commit to an increase in their dividend payments beyond the stated 4% increase per annum they should look at offering a couple of special dividends every year when the times are good.
And when times are bad most sensible investors would accept there being no special dividend.
