Haha yes! When the market is down he goes for the $2.95 breakfast! ?? There are plenty of interesting, informative and funny clips on him, about him and with him in them!
Stated during the Manchester Hustings that she would ensure “We are making the most of the resources from the North Sea.” She is also very keen on fracking to tap the massive reservoirs of natural gas. Is fracking something HBR could undertake?
From a personal perspective the increase in divi has eliminated any thoughts of profit taking. The divi is quarterly and BP is at least a hedge against my household energy bills.
Topped up this morning and I’m quite happy to hold and collect the dividends. The business model of buying land and building homes is a simple but profitable one. One simply has to add on big red down days!!
Today’s higher than expected inflation figures won’t go down well and I can certainly see that as a drag on the share price today. Shame, as the results are solid.
Hopefully we’ll see a flurry of buys this afternoon in anticipation…come what may I’ll be holding onto my shares as a long term hold. Any silly drops and I will of course nibble a few more.
RE: Big Oil looking to Capitalise on Offshore Wind14 Aug 2022 10:07
This looks promising “Offshore wind can deliver 25% higher unit operating cash margins in comparison to new field oil and gas projects, according to a new metric and analysis developed by Wood Mackenzie.”
Having just reread the Annual Financial Report from March it states Phoenix “intends to pay a dividend that is sustainable and grows over time.” Hopefully tomorrow’s update results in an increase in the already generous divi.
Thanks Chandley. With 5 years or so of work left I mainly invest in FTSE100 divi payers as a way of generating another income stream. Nothing too clever as once bought I just “top up” on big red down days. Totally agree with the Rosneft thoughts and companies in the energy sector are in a prime spot at the moment. Just need to dodge the silly calls on extra taxation.
Previously I’ve taken profit on other holdings and then rolled them into other holdings but I just feel O&G is the place to be right now. Spights, where are those forecasts from if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you.
I’ve read a number of times that 450p could signal some profit taking. Is there a technical reason for this or is it because 450p is the 12 month high? Personally I’m happy holding, collecting and reinvesting the improved dividends.
