Buy backs reduce the number of shares in circulation which in turn can help boost metrics such as the EPS….which makes the Board look good…Long term it can also reduce the total amount that needs to paid out in dividends.

Anybody’s guess how Mr Market will view the deal.

Headline figures look very, verygood but we’ll see how the update compares to “analyst expectations.”

Careful inflation doesn’t erode the cash pile.
So natural gas is up by 68% over the week.

This dog still barking? Sell up, take the hit if need be and put the money to good use somewhere else.

Operating cash generation up 9% to ÂŁ705m, IFRS adjusted operating profit jumps 25% to ÂŁ451m. Interim dividend rises 2.6% to 27.35p. Solvency II surplus of ÂŁ3.6B. Very healthy.
Keep on compounding.

Or rather, the only way is down! :)
This “company” “ponzi scheme” call it what you want, has a history of placings that shows disregard and contempt for private investors. And lets not forget the chorus of rampers. My advice, put your money elsewhere!
How much more evidence is needed that the board are only interested in themselves and how deep they can get their snouts into the trough? Add a layer, no, several layers of incompetence and you have UJO…they’d give Dick Turpin a run for his money.

Another restful night’s sleep ahead of me tonight knowing that AV is quietly going about its business and doing a rather good job about it!
I’m hoping to top slice at 300p

Looking like a good finish into the close of play…
I'd like to see a inflow of AUM.....and consequently a maintained divi.
Mr Market is either going to love it or hate it…

I don’t necessarily see AI being able to develop medicines but I do envisage AI revolutionising personal cancer care treatment for example. Large sample data sets already exist from which AI can further precision and individualise the treatments.
