Leaving everything alone can be good, as I mentioned with my SIPP. However, let's face it, it is a form of gambling, and that is, I think, why we like to 'wheel and deal'. There is always the chance of a big one, (like PYM or GPX) and that is why we buy and sell so much. Like backing the outsider in the Grand National.
Take DOO for instance. I could have put that money into RR. or BAe and be failry confident that it would grow, slowly probably, but without much risk. So what do I do? put it all into a company I don't really know, in a newish sector, on the hope it will get taken over. In fact thinking about it, that's what I did with ICX !
Good to see MWA still climbing. ANGM are a bit subdued at the moment due to financing issues, but they are due to pour the first Gold in early December and I would think the SP will reflect that. It's still a bit risky, but has good management and once the Gold starts to be mined, I'm sure the company will turn around. There are a few logistical problems that need to be sorted and which will need further funds, so a further dilution cannot be ruled out. It probably depends on how quickly the revenue stream develops.
