Subject to... a placing?1 Aug 2019 18:33
The RNS states:
'London, UK., 01 August 2019: ValiRx Plc (AIM: VAL), the clinical stage biotechnology company, announces that the European Patent Office ("EPO") has issued a Patent Notice of Allowance for ValiRx's pre-clinical therapeutic compound, VAL301, subject to payment of the relevant fees.'
Why have they not paid the 'relevant fees'? Is this a subtle reminder to shareholders that further funds will be required without which the company cannot progress the development of its compounds? As the notes to the last financial statements say:
'The company carries out regular fund-raising exercises in order that it can provide the necessary working capital for the Group. Further funds will be required to finance the Group’s work programme.'
After the calls received by some who have attended recent events I think a placing is coming sooner than most expect but at little discount / possibly a small premium to cheer the LTH who get to participate on a 2 for 10 basis. If the BOD do participate I might get tempted to speculate again.
