Does anybody know Expedeon and it's products - they are up 33% in Germany on news that Abcam are proposing to buy most of their business.

'Expedeon has sold its immunology and proteomics business activities to global life sciences company Abcam. Abcam is paying €120m in cash for the business.'

Abcam announced plans to buy Expedeon's Proteomics and Immunology business for a cash consideration of €120 million on a cash free / debt free basis which is about twice Expedeon's macp and values the business at a ridiculous multiple of earnings.

My slide rule says that they are paying around 3 times the book value of an asset that earned €1 million EBITDA last year so must be expecting some synergies?

The science seems so good but they have breached loan covenants and have been punished heavily.

Why punters did not read the trading update RNS they issued last months saying they would not meet market consensus revenue opinions and work out that the likely breach amazes me. The joy of the stock market...

Well, the RNS did not bring good news - plenty to buy at 1.1p now. What a shame as I have high hopes for TRX's products but it is starting to look like PIs are going to get shafted when TRX has to go looking for more money.

It sends shivers up my spine when I remind myself I bought and sold at around 3p a month ago - fortunately I followed my gut feeling and took the small loss then.
