Tensions have been rising since there was a large gas find in waters that are disputed - Turkey is reliant on oil imports and their balance of payments deficit is causing the currency to lose value [amongst other reasons like Central Bank interference]. As long as Strong Man Erdogan is in power there can always be a proper kick-off.

The point I was making is that thee have been no trades at £1.60. The market closed with a mid-point of £1.60 when the Bid was 20p and the Ask was £3. Hardly a sign of an efficient market to draw any judgement from...
