I was a bit annoyed at seeing the price drop after buying earlier this month so this improvement is slightly pleasing even though I am still down a 4 figure sum. The trading update on the 16th will be interesting.

SYME - announce a delay to publishing accounts whilst they complete a 'funding facility with a group of new investors'. Share price starts dropping as soon as market opens and loyal investors start piling in to 'top up' at 'bargain prices'. The share price is not even 3% down as I type this.

Is this a sign of a cult? The company describes itself as a company that 'enables businesses to generate cashflow, without incurring debt, by monetising their existing stock'. But they do not seem to have made any loans yet and have a m/cap of around £150m! How is this possible? And, the boss seems to have sold off tens of millions of shares since the company floated...

What an unwelcome RNS - the delay will most likely undermine the share price and if the "funding facility with a group of new investors" involves new shares they may be at a discount to the potentially weakened share price.

How many cars do Uber own? None; Uber place the risk of ownership on the broad shoulders of their drivers. Same with Lyft. Both will make a buck letting you enter a hire agreement through them to hire a vehicle but again the risk is transferred to the driver.

They are exploitative business models. Mother Jones has a recent article about their attempts to organise riders into a Union that the companies have chosen - that union [Independent Drivers Guild] will see its annual revenue go from $1.3m to over $30m with just New York's fees. You can imagine whose side they are on...
