Copper - my play is MAFL. Unloved, but has been spiking between 10 and 15p around twice a year for a few years; it has been good for my trading mentality. They have a free carry to production of 5% of highly prospective, precious metal rich zinc / copper massive sulphide deposit currently expected to be producing in 2026 [less than 2 years to pay back costs associated with starting the mine]. They have been negotiating another 15% from the Portuguese GOV for years, but who knows if that will come off.

MAFL trades at a substantial [around 40%] discount to a conservative NAV of their diversified portfolio and are due $2.5m in December as a staged payment from their mining partner. I see significant upside if the market gets interested; if the SP were to fall below 10p again on shareholder boredom, it is worth a good chunk of cheese. Current m/cap is only £4m.

This YouTuber seems heavily biased, but the central points remain the same... Zero-Covid policies coupled with a drought, a devaluing currency, defaults in the property and trusts sectors and high youth unemployment paint a bleak picture for an economy used to expansion not contraction.

And as Chinese growth has powered the world's economy for so long, this is brewing an ill wind for us.

Looks like The Queen is on her way out; she has had a good innings, and it will be natural causes. Even though I am no fan of the privileges that the Royal Family have, she has been a good ambassador for the British.

A shame that the "straw" that broke her was the effort to swear in Liz, as a result of Boris being such a disgrace he had to be kicked out; will he be remembered as the Queen Killer?

Everybody and their dog seems to want a piece of an oiler at the moment and there is some irrational buying going on - UDOG is up around 20% recently even though it is a loss making onshore oiler with no prospects for fracking, just ramping. And they have even told the market that they will be doing a large placing in the 4th quarter.

I use Hargreaves Lansdown; their annual fees are less than 1/2 a %; prices offered are generally competitive [I shop around with other brokers] and they have just increase interest on cash balances to 0.9% which, they say, is the best on offer. They do not allow SIPP investments in some riskier shares...

From the accounts released today - it should provide some comfort:

I will not mourn his passing...

An astute observation... I have been silently hoping that JV has been keeping radio silence whilst trying to get the remaining 15% off the Portuguese GOV. They [the Portuguese GOV holding company] might be keen on receiving a couple of million Euros [pays a lot of wages and directors bonuses] so it is not a forlorn hope.

A dangerous game to play but some love it; I do not have the kahoonies to play that game with a chunk of cheese.
