People read the headline and make their opinions up; it is why misleading headlines are used. Claiming that the "'Establishment' banned Reform UK from laying Cenotaph wreath" when they did not qualify under a protocol established nearly 40 years before Reform was incorporated is done to trigger anti-gov sentiment.

It is a long-standing rule [from 1984] that a party must have 6 MPs [or be the party with the most sitting MPs from a devolved nation] for its leader to lay a wreath on Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph. The same rule that meant he did not lay a wreath as UKIP leader years ago...

That would speed up the shrinking of the tax base just as people want more spent on pensions, the NHS and all other services. GOV should be doing their best to encourage citizens to have more kids; things like addressing the housing shortage; fixing the NHS waiting lists; tackling child mental health waiting lists; ending the 2 child tax credit limit; providing ringfenced funds to local authorities for children's services etc.

All of this costs and therein lies the problem. People know that the money needs to be spent, but they do not want to pay any more in taxes to pay for it.

If you want better public services [especially cash hand outs to old folks] everybody will need to pay higher taxes [including old folks].
